It was a good way to see a little bit of the Mekong, the guide Minh was very good and provided additional insight. It was a bit touristy (an opportunity to buy stuff at most stops and you can’t get away from the crowds) but I think that’s to be expected on a short day trip from HCMC.

The tour was fun. English speaking guide was knowledgeable - go for the tour by asianalink. We experienced the speed boat, the hand rowing boat and the tuk tuk. We also visited the coconut candy factory whete we get to try warm, freshly made coconut candy which was so so nice! Buy their coconut biscuits from there too. Really good and fresh. We also tried the honey with pollen, also served with fried banana fritters which were really good too. Buy these back, made for really good soivenirs. We were also served tropical fruits and entertained by local singers. Nice!

recommend only if you are not familiar with Asian farms and not visiting north side. Being a high season, delta was very crowded with boats to an extend of creating traffic jam. Boat rowers were rowing veey fast in order to transport the passengers in min time and hence unable to enjoy the ride. Rest experience of Viet farming, country life was good.

This was something I really wanted to do and was soo looking forward to it. Unfortunately I was with someone who had decided he was not going to enjoy it no matter what, which may have colored my impression. The promises of tropical forests and walking over boats to get on to boats were really a fizzogg. The Tuc Tuc ride was not quite what was expected. The trip to the Coconut factory was slightly interesting, and I bought some toffee from them to help the workers - only to find I could have gotten three times the amount of toffees for the price I paid elsewhere. A stop from walking to have a drink where they make mats was included - two old ladies sitting on the floor weaving the mats. I was not well, but the food did not look appetising. It was a whole fish deep fried with it's scales and all. Everyone there had the same dish, so it was obviously done for the tourists. Sadly I could not eat much of it. I would not recommend the Mekong Delta day trip to anyone, but would say - if you must do it, do it. If it is only a whim, leave it and use your time for something else.
