Truly unique and beautiful places to visit, this tour covers some of the top hidden gems of Utah that most visitors to the Capitol Reef area miss out on. Bentonite Hills, Moonscape Overlook and Factory Butte have gained popularity through Instagram but remain lightly visited.
Amazing vast lunar and Martian landscapes guaranteed to be a highlight of your time here. A professional guide will maximize your time and knowledge and get you to the great spots and back quickly and safely.
These areas provide superb photo opportunities especially at sunrise or during the blue hours, if you have a drone you can get some remarkable footage of the Bentonite Hills, the tour area is out of the National Park so drone use is allowed.
This tour will definitely be one you remember and talk about for years to come, the geology is so unique you may not see it anywhere else.

Your tour will continue on 4x4 roads past the iconic and inspiring Factory Butte to the Martian like Bentonite Hills, a softly sculpted and rainbow colored landscape comparable to the surface of Mars! We took the Goblin Valley Tour seeing amazing scenery and geology. Our guide was Jason, the owner, was very knowledgeable about the area as he lives in Torrey, UT. Jason was also a veteran serving in the US Army. His background came in handy when we came across a motorist stranded on the back roads. The stranded car was a small sedan that had no business traveling this road. The vehicle was stuck in clay mud with no getting out without help. Jason stopped, accessed the situation and grabbed a shovel and dug out the clay underneath the vehicle. Another goo Samaritan in a jeep stopped and they pulled the car out of the mud and sent the driver back the way she came. It was a highlight to see Jason help a stranger get out of a bind. Great job Jason! I would highly recommend Jason and Water Pocket Adventure Company.

This tour couldn’t have been any better. Our Guide was so accommodating, personable, and definitely went above and beyond what was advertised. Anyone looking to go see these areas should let them take you!!

Booked with Get Your Guide, but tour operated by Meridian Photography tours. Due to torrential rain, we were only able to visit the Factory Butte and the Moonscape overlook, which was incredible; like nothing we've ever seen before or likely to again. Definitely overworldly. The drive from the outskirts of Torrey through Capital Reef National Park was lovely. Very disappointed not to see the Bentonite Hills (caught a brief glimpse from the highway whilst travelling to Torrey from Moab), but given the weather we were lucky this tour went ahead at all. That was only thanks to our outstanding driver and guide Mel, who had gone out early in the morning to check if the routes were accessible. Also, thank you for the prompt response from the team at Get Your Guide who we contacted the previous evening concerned re the weather and if the tour would go ahead. There were just the two of us in an air-conditioned very clean (not by the end of the tour; it was covered in mud) Jeep, but the company also has Range Rovers (Mel is a big fan of this British vehicle). Larger groups are always accommodated across several vehicles. I was concerned that this was mainly going to be about photography, but booked it as it was the only tour at a time of day that worked for us during our road trip around Utah. I need not have worried. You can have specialist photography tours or just sight seeing tours. Mel was a mine of information, plus answered lots of questions. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

Our 4-hour morning tour of the Bentonite Hills and Moonscape region exceeded all our expectations in every way, all thanks to our exceptional guide, Jason. Jason made the entire journey unforgettable because of his vast experience, knowledge and research. The stunning Moonscape and Bentonite Hills region being so surreal with their dramatic colors and unique features were a sight we will never forget. Jason discussed extensively the geology and history of the entire area. He brought the land to life in a way that no guidebook could ever do. His attention to detail made every moment feel like a personal discovery. He was taking the time to answer every question and point out the hidden gems of the area that could have been easily missed. It felt like being on a journey with an old friend who not only knew the terrain like the back of his hand but also made sure we were comfortable and enjoying every step of the adventure. We would highly recommend Water Pocket Adventure Company without hesitation.

For our second trip to Utah my wife Clara booked this tour. Jason managed to turn a tour into an incredible adventure. Places that we could never have visited with our off-road vehicle because some sites are accessible only by an experienced and reliable driver like Jason, wonderful person who made our experience unique. We will never forget the deafening silence of what for us is the most beautiful and particular place in all of Utah: Moonscape. My wife was even moved. A privilege to be alone. Also for this reason the tour is worth every penny spent. Thank you also for taking us to see the temple of the sun and moon. We hope to return to Torrey and do another tour with Jason. Thank you. Your Sicilian friends.

I booked this as a surprise for my spouse being that we had never been to Capitol Reef National Park before. All I can say is "WOW!!" Our tour guide, Sam, was soooo wonderful. He took us to his "favorite" places that were truly off the beaten path. He showed up on time, and his vehicle was perfect for the bumpy tour (ha ha). He had drinks and snacks for us. Sam gave us all sorts of great information, and I loved how he said, "If you want to stop and take pictures, just let me know." There was NO rushing at all. The Moonscape Overlook was breathtaking. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but it was worth EVERY penny. Sam, we cannot thank you enough. If you are in the area, please give Waterpocket a try. You won't be disappointed.

Jason and Elizabeth were great. We saw some beautiful sites that we would never be able to find on our own. I would highly recommend this to her.
