What To Expect
Mount Gay Experience
Tour times - 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, last tour 2:30. On the Signature Rum Tasting you will learn about the rich history of Mount Gay Rum after meeting your Brand Host, the tour will kick off with complimentary welcome Rum Punch. While you enjoy your cocktail your host will take you on a journey through the Legacy Museum which offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the illustrious history of Mount Gay Rum and the island of Barbados. From there, you will view a short film which gives an explanation of the process of how Mount Gay rums are produced. Next, you will be taken to the Tasting Room where you will enjoy an experience of flavour of 3 Mount Gay rums. Your host will walk you through the tasting explaining the differences between each rum that you taste. To complete the tasting, you will then be taken to the Signature Bar for a chance to indulge in some wonderfully crafted cocktails with the very knowledgeable mixologists. After the tasting, make sure to visit the gift shop to purchase some bottles or souvenirs for yourself. Some of the rums can only be purchased on the island! You can also enjoy finger foods or lunch for purchase at the Live Grill.

5.00We decided to go to the visitor experience in Bridgetown which is basically the truncated version of the one at the distillery. This place has a good restaurant and bar in it. The food is exceptionally good, We had the fishcakes which were more like puffy fish balls but they were so delicious. The tour was an excellent length and comedically explained. We also got to taste a good range of the rums which on top of the welcome cocktail will get you pretty tipsy if you drank it all! Unless you want to go see a distillery on the other side of the island I would opt for this place. It's a good day out without too much pressure of being moved on for the next tour group as they have outside benches for just chilling with rum cocktails. They also have a gift shop.

5.00The tour was lots of fun! Be warned it fills up fast. They have a special tour they do on Mondays so if you want to do that plan around it. I went on a Friday. We had Damian as our guide and he was amazing! Very knowledgeable and a great guide. He made the whole experience lots of fun and had lots of fun interesting facts about rum, the process and the distillery in general. Definitely recommend going if you are on the Island and able to.

5.00Ronal was phenomenal!!! He had the best personality, was well educated and all around a blast to be around!!! We recommend this tour… you learn so much and the people are so nice and wonderful. When you come to Barbados this needs to be on your list of experiences!!! Oh and by the way…. THE RUM!!! JUST WOWWWWWWW… New favorite UNLOCKED!!!!

4.00A great day out and one I’d highly recommend if you’re visiting Barbados. The visitor centre was easy to find, and the tour was informative and engaging throughout, providing a fascinating insight into the history and heritage of Mount Gay Rum. The experience was just the right length, keeping things interesting without ever feeling rushed or dragged out. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, helping bring the story of the distillery to life in an enjoyable and relaxed way. The highlight was, of course, the rum tasting, which was a fantastic way to finish the tour and sample some excellent rums. Overall, a well-organised, enjoyable experience and well worth a visit while in Barbados. Whether you’re a rum enthusiast or simply looking for an interesting excursion, it’s a great way to spend a few hours.

5.00We had the best time. The tour guide was so friendly and funny. He was Very knowledgeable and did not rush. Answered everyone’s questions. Learning how to drink rum correctly (I thought I already knew) after the tour we were welcomed to spend time in the bar area where the staff were so accommodating we had a blast. Definitely recommend
