Enter “mini-Yosemite” on this half‑day getaway to the Eagle River Nature Center—one of the easiest places near Anchorage to feel fully immersed in Alaska’s outdoors! This is a mellow, small‑group nature walk along the Historic Iditarod Trail that is designed to feel personal and easygoing. We take our time, enjoy the scenery, and stop for photos whenever something catches your eye. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain peaks, look out for signs of wildflowers and berries, medicinal plants, moose, bears, eagles, beavers, salmon, ravens, swans, and more! First, you'll have a chance to take a look inside the Center's historic lodge to learn about local flora and fauna from their informative displays. Next, we'll wander along the meticulously-maintained forested paths, boardwalks, and viewing decks that offer massive rewards for minimal effort. Your guide will be there every step of the way: looking for wildlife, identifying wild plants, and taking your photos in the immense beauty!

Did the Eagle River walk - very manageable and great views that rival those of Denali and elsewhere in Alaska. Convenient and beautiful drive from Anchorage. Even got to see some bears/cubs. Billy is very familiar with the area and was helpful. Very much enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

What a great tour. Pace perfectly set for our small group. Billy, the owner and tour guide for Take it Easy Tours was informative and accommodating. Nice level hike with ample wildlife viewing. We saw our first moose. What a thrill. Highly recommended.
