One of the only activities in CABO that combines the beauty of whale watching from the boat (seasonal) and snorkeling in the open ocean with animals in their own terms like mobulas, dolphins, sea lions and more.
WIth a focus on providing close, responsible, and unforgettable encounters with unique and majestic underwater marine life, we prioritize sourcing from local communities and supporting science through donations, photo IDs, and citizen science trips. We believe that by offering these incredible experiences, people can fall in love with the ocean and find ways to protect it for future generations.

What To Expect
Come and join us on a unique ocean expedition in the beautiful Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez, where you can experience a magical up-close encounter with ocean creatures, while always prioritizing the integrity and safety of both the animals and our divers. You’ll have the chance to see underwater Mobula rays, sea lions, dolphins, sharks, and more! While everything is possible, it's important to keep in mind that this is nature, and surprises are always expected.

5.00I was there on June 9 and 11 for the open sea safari. With us was guide Benjamín Fernandez and Isabelle and the sea. 💙🐬💪🏽🐟🐟They provided excellent service, teaching us how to interact with the different marine creatures and the appropriate distances between us and them for a beautiful interaction. 5.00Just returned from an amazing time in La Ventana with Apex - the location (both on land and in the water) is absolutely stunning, the crew are all beyond amazing (special shout out to Andrea, Isabell, and Endry!), and most importantly, the marine life interactions are done responsibly and with the animals welfare as the top priority. The ocean gifted us with some amazing encounters. Thanks Apex!

5.00What a week! I just finished a 5 day Ocean Safari with Apex. The team and experience were incredible. First, the guides were wonderful. We were with Andrea, Alex, and Nik and each was friendly, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. They make sure you have a great experience. The boats were also very comfortable. We were a group of 12 and had 2 boats for our group. We had music going and there was space to sit, lay down, or stand comfortably. Then of course the animals. With the ocean you never know what to expect but wow we had a great week. We saw orcas, whale sharks, sea lions, mobula, Merlin, dolphins, and many more. The sea lions and dolphins were my personal favorites since they just seem to be having a good time. What I really appreciate about Apex is their approach. They put the animal first and make sure it will be a safe and positive interaction for both you and the animal. For logistics: we got picked up beach side at our hotel each morning which was very cool. They also had plenty of food for us including burritos, ceviche, and fruit. Vegetarian and vegan options were available too. A silent question many people have is the bathroom - the boats didn’t have one on board but they would just stop and people would jump in the sea when needed. Highly recommend this trip! Make sure to cover up since there are man o war and jellyfish in the water and the sun can be intense. Once you’re wet you can also get cold so make sure to bring a wind breaker to make the rides more comfortable. The Apex model is come with an open heart and the ocean will take care of the rest. Very true! Thank you Apex team!

5.00My wife and I experienced two amazing days in the water with this company! We swam with so many insane ocean animals, it truly felt like a once in a lifetime experience. The guides and crew and everyone we have met has been very helpful and intelligent and you can really tell they love the ocean. I’ve tried a couple different ocean expedition companies in Cabo but I will be sticking with Apex if I come back :)

5.00We came 12 friends from Spain for our Spring break and we didn’t hesitate to do the ocean safari to watch sharks. Thanks to the professionalism of our team of guides with Nik and Donna and captains Charly and Yosgart, we were able to warn 2 sharks after only 40 mins chugging. Very top and highly recommended experience!
