5.00As someone who lives in Ottawa, I wasn’t sure how much I would actually learn from a food tour in the ByWard Market—but I was pleasantly surprised. The tour perfectly combined great food with the history and culture of one of Ottawa’s most iconic neighborhoods. Our tour guide, Flavia, was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging. She explained everything in detail and brought the stories of the Market to life. Her enthusiasm for Ottawa and its history was contagious, and she made the entire experience both informative and enjoyable. I learned so many interesting facts, hidden stories, and local gems that I had never heard about before, despite living here. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the ByWard Market and Ottawa’s history. The food tastings were generous, varied, and delicious, and I loved discovering local businesses and products that I probably wouldn’t have found on my own. Every stop offered something unique, and the entire experience was engaging from start to finish. I would highly recommend this tour not only to visitors, but also to locals looking to see their city from a different perspective. 5.00I would definitely recommend it for people of all ages. What truly made this experience special was the history behind everything. You start to notice details that aren’t written anywhere, the kind of stories and insights you wouldn’t discover on your own. The tour really makes you see the ByWard Market in a completely different way, and some of those stories stay with you long after. The food tastings were amazing, with a great variety from different cultures, and the sweets were especially enjoyable. While you could visit these places on your own, what makes this experience unique is the meaning and history behind each stop. Ottawa has something special to offer here that you won’t easily find in other cities. Overall, it’s a memorable experience that combines culture, history, and food in a really authentic way.
