Phnom Penh’s points of interest are largely historical and cultural, but they are only part of exploring the city. Exotic shopping, unique dining, indulgent spas and a fair bit of nightlife complete the Phnom Penh experience.
Set aside two or three days for the major points. Though it is possible to squeeze the most important sights into a single day, this leaves very little time at each location. Popular sights include the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and the Khmer Rouge ‘Killing Fields,’ the National Museum, the Russian Market, Central Market and Wat Phnom. Except for the ‘Killing Fields,’ which are about 16km from the city center, all of the major sights are inside the city within a five or ten minute ride of each other.

We enjoyed this tour very much to the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, S21 Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields. Our tour guide was Lay who was awesome. She was one of the best guides you could hope for and was world class. Our transport too was comfortable. Lay really knew her history and as it was only my wife and I on this tour, Lay answered the many questions we had at all of the sights and she was kind enough to take several pictures for us. My only complaint was the cost. At AUD $198.00 for two people, that was the cost for transport and the tour guide which is very high compared to a temples tour in Siem Reap for the whole day which only cost around AUD $55.00 for the 2 of us. With both tours we paid for all entry fees. I can see why tourist numbers are down for this tour based on this extravagant price. Had the van been full the tour operator would've made 5 times our ticket price for cheap transport costs and I am sure, the low wage that a tour guide would get.

The tour guide that was on the tour with us was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. I understood every word he said and was amazed that he had never been to the U.S. He spoke English as good as me. His knowledge of the history off Cambodia and the killing fiends was simply amazing and he really was the professor of the tour. I enjoy listening to every word he said and I was just amazed how thorough his knowledge of all of the problems at the killing friends were. A very amazing man our guide was his name is Mr. Senh.

The service provided by our guide and driver was superb. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable. We had a slight confusion at the start because we thought this was an all-in tour. It turns out, admission fees are not included in this package (and lunch, despite what some of the reviews describe). This is basically a car hire and guide service. We followed the written itinerary, but you can customize this by replacing one site with another (we could’ve skipped the National Museum with $10 admission for a trip to Wat Phnom). Great service by the local tour agency, lousy description here in Viator.
