What To Expect
Join us at this adventure to the summit (2351m) of Pico Mountain! This is the most iconic and memorable experience in the Azores, perfect for those who are in good physical condition, even without any mountaineering experience. Our meeting point will be Casa da Montanha 1200m where we will give a briefing to the entire group, review the necessary equipment and receive our locators to begin our journey of approximately 7 hours to 2351 meters and return. The trail is approximately 8km long and is entirely on volcanic rock with an average slope of 30%, promising challenging differences in level. In the first part of the trail, an intense change in breathing pattern and/or lack of balance are warning signs, as this is a sampling of the difference in level and the type of terrain that we will have in the next few hours on Pico Mountain and the participant may not be suitable for the activity. *Participants over 60 years old or children under 12 years old are not included in the groups, please request a private activity at a different price. *You must fill in all personal information. *The reservation will only be completed if there are spaces available at Casa da Montanha.

5.00We had a great time climbing Pico with Raisa! Although the weather forecast wasn’t great and the weather turned out even worse, Raisa knew how to make the best out of it, always checking in with everyone in the group, making sure no one was left behind, and pushing jsut enough that everyone felt motivated in spite of the rain and wind. Unfortunately we weren’t able to summit due to increasingly bad weather once we got to 2180m. My sister was not a happy camper ;) But I on the other hand had lots of fun. I highly recommend Raisa and if you plan to summit in spring, make sure to get your rain gear and wind breakers, the cold is no joke! Thank you Raisa! Other tips: Raisa offers a pick up, which was convenient and realiable! Just perfect. Weather: Rainclothes, gloves, windbreaker and waterproof shoes recommended when hiking in spring. Although Raisa did have spares of everything, which was awesome, it would be most comfy to have your own.

5.00Climbing Pico was one of most beautiful things I’ve ever done!!! At the start of the trail there’s a small angel statue and they say you should touch it for protection. We did, smiled about it, and started the hike… Raisa wasn’t just leading the way. She was there with us through all 47 trail markers, always encouraging, always positive, and somehow making even the toughest moments feel manageable. No pressure, no rush ☺️ just the right balance of motivation and calm! She was our angel !!! Reaching the summit felt unreal. But what we’ll remember the most is how we got there. Truly an experience we won’t forget thanks to Raisa!
