This is an amazing trip which allows you to smoothly visit the famous City of Lucerne from Zurich. A private vehicle with chauffeur will pick you up from your hotel at Zurich or surroundings and will drive to Lucerne. You will enjoy the scenic drive and will reach Lucerne in approximately one hour. The vehicle will drive you around for few minutes where you will see the lake lucerne, railway station, famous bucherer watch and jewellery store, the chapelle bridge and the Lion monument. The driver will park the car near lion monument and you will have 2 hours of free time to explore the city on foot. All major attractions are few minutes walk from lions monument. Feel free to utilise your time for shopping, boat ride (on your own) or walking around and tasting amazing swiss chocolates. After two hours we head back towards zurich which is again nearly one hour drive. On arrival in Zurich you will be dropped back at your hotel.

What To Expect
Lion Monument
Carved in stone, yet deceptively alive – Lucerne’s world-famous Lion Monument has been impressing visitors from near and far for very many years. The imposing stone lion, however, is more than “just” a monument. Depending on your point of view, it can be seen as a commemoration, a work of art or a memorial. And as a proud landmark of the city of Lucerne. The “Lion of Lucerne” is nestled in a rocky grotto in a charming park setting in Lucerne. Ten new interpretation panels outline the history and multilayered significance of the monument. The information is in German and English, while French and Italian versions are available by scanning a QR code. The same link provides more in-depth information surrounding the eight thematic areas outlined by the interpretation panels. The Lion Monument is visited by around 1.4 million people every year, though few of them are aware of the tragic story behind this imposing work; this can be remedied by taking a journey back in time.
Chapel Bridge
Not for nothing is the world-famous timber bridge Lucerne’s most photographed destination, it being held in high esteem by visitors and residents in equal measure. Together with the Water Tower, the bridge forms a landmark in the townscape like no other attraction. The Chapel Bridge these days links the Lucerne Theatre on the south bank of the River Reuss with St. Peter’s Chapel on Rathausquai, passing the Water Tower on the way. The devastation that caught the world’s attention was one that no one would have wished to have happened.

5.00We are from india in our late thirties and we always saw Switzerland in the movies. Bollywood movies show Switzerland so regularly and i am a die hard fan of Yash Chopra movies. We did an organised tour with one indian tour operator and utilised our free day to do this trip on our own. We realised that in our next trip we should live at the shores of Lake Lucerne and not in Zurich. Anyways the trip was awesome. Very well organised. Thanks Viator and thanks to the agency Passion who was the local partner

5.00It was a long wait to get our visas for Switzerland but it was definitely worthwhile. Just loved this trip and happy to see the lion monument which i had seen in Indian movies. We bought loads of chocolates. Beautiful drive from Zurich, very safe and discreet driver. Highly recommend this trip if you want to see the city of Lucerne and it's lake. Though we didn't find the option to do a lake cruise with lunch, it was still a beautiful experience to do a boat ride which costed 20 CHF a ticket for nearly one hour.

5.00Great trip booked via our french travel agent. We could utilise the free time in Zurich to visit this city before our flight back to India. The drives in Switzerland are amazingly scenic. We went for a conference and didn't get much time to visit. This trip was awesome and and we felt absorbed in local ambience. Bravo to our driver sasha who did a great job

5.00Lovely weather and no rain... beautiful sunny day. Impossible to explain how lucky we felt on our trip from Zurich to lucerne. The trip was perfectly Organized. Clean cab with a punctual and good driver. I haven't yet understood if it's Lucerne or Luzern but it's worth visiting. We went in a luxury taxi with this private tour and the train station was so amazing to visit. Luckily our driver recommended us to visit the train station called Bahnhof. It's like a small city with shopping center. Lucerne is a great place for shopping.

5.00Beautiful lake of Lucerne, we took a boat in some free time. It's a must do for all. You can find the boats right opposite the famous watch and jewellery shop bucherer. You get a discount will some local passes. Else it's 25 CHF for one hour boat ride. Be careful with your shopping spirit...they Money gets spent so fast at the beautiful city of Lucerne. Chocolates, watches, jewelery you have everything there. Our driver was from Prague but he knew the area very well. Nice family trip to resume it in few words.
