This part of our week with German was really great! There is something for the whole family! Like the rest, it was a very complete experience but without stress: a very short walk in the forest among Mayan ruins as if nothing was happening, a private swim in a completely mystical cenote (I'll leave you the surprise), a very funny and heartwarming encounter with monkeys, a fantastic zip line followed by a lovely little boat crossing. It was perfect!

Hands down the best tour guide who curated a very special and private experience. German picked us up in front of our hotel on time, it was a very comfortable car ride to the monkey perserve. Once there a local friend Jordy joined us on a hike through the jungle to spot monkeys: we saw several families of spider monkeys. Next we Zipped lined over the jungle to a lake which we crossed via canoe, it was a short canoe trip and would be easy for most activity levels. From the monkey preserve we 20 minutes to a private cenote that was breathtaking- there are facilities at the cenote to change, also a bathroom. German provided water and offered to stop and get us snacks. He had snorkel gear and flashlights for us to use in the cenote, which you can cliff dive into. There were loads of bats in the cave and it was a very surreal experience. We had mentioned we were hungry so German asked if we’d like to visit a Mayan village for lunch, so glad we said yes. Don Pedro welcomed us into his village where another Mayan blessing was performed, then we got to help make tortillas, gluten free to accommodate my allergy. We had a delicious meal that was bursting with flavor, lots of fresh tortillas, many dipping sauces, and finished with Mayan chocolate and a taste of their liquor. We learned so much on our adventure and German is so comfortable it feels like spending a day with a close friend. He cares about the experience he provides, sustainability, and the local people he helps support. We were also able to purchase hand made gifts, homemade liquor and honey from the locals we met. I cannot say enough about how gracious our host was as well as Don Pedro and his entire family! Thank you for making this trip extra special!
