Child Seats: required by law for under 6yrs (≤18kg). Not provided; please bring your own if needed.
Lunch is a grazing spread consisting of local meats, cheeses, and accompaniments or a deli-style lunch, depending on availability. We are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements or severe allergies; guests with specific nutritional needs are welcome to bring their own lunch.
Personal Gear: Please bring a small daypack, sun protection, and a reusable water bottle (refills provided).
Technical Gear: We provide hiking poles and microspikes/ice cleats if needed. USB-A charging ports are available in the van—please bring your own cable.
Clothing & Footwear: Wear sturdy, waterproof hiking boots (insulated for winter) and adaptable layers (avoid cotton). Bring an extra base layer to change into for the return journey (especially in summer). Check weather conditions before departure.
Waiver: required for all guests before departure.
Flexibility & Changes: If you need to amend your date or start time, please message us directly as far in advance as possible, and we will do everything we can to accommodate your request. Depending on guide availability, we can usually be highly adaptable.
Giving back: A portion of every journey is donated to a hand-picked charity supporting either environmental protection, Indigenous education, or animal welfare. You’ll have the opportunity to choose which cause your booking supports.
What To Expect
Emerald Lake
The Activity: A scenic, mostly level hike along the shoreline of Emerald Lake - one of British Columbia’s most spectacular alpine lakes. We hit the day's furthest point first, experiencing the vivid turquoise of the "Jewel of Yoho" and its breadth of geological features through active discovery before the mid-day rush. The full lakeside loop is 5.2km; we will complete the trail in its entirety or in part, depending on your group’s preference, the season, and current trail conditions. Duration: 1–2 hours.
Natural Bridge
The Activity: A brief stop along Emerald Lake Road to observe the Kicking Horse River as it carves its way through solid rock.

5.00Russel was an AMAZING tour guide!! I had called him a month or two prior to the trip because I was really unsure what would be the best trip for my family. I told him our goals, ages, and interests and he made it happen! We went canoeing on Lake Louise, took the best photos as Moraine Lake, and had a perfect small hike at Emerald Lake. Even when last minute someone on our trip had broken their leg he was very accommodating and ready to pivot! We also were trying to dodge the rain a bit and Russel did a great job making sure we had the best weather in each spot and stayed warm. Russel is knowledgeable, very prepared, and was just great to get along with and chat with for a 9 hour trip. Thank you for such a memorable great time!!

5.00We did a private tour with Russell who was able to customize our stops based off of our desires of what we wanted to see and on beating the rain at every stop. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our many questions. He thought of everything from the equipment to the amazing lunch to drinks and everything in between. Every stop was even more beautiful than the last and the day flew by! Would 1000% recommend this tour and Russell as your guide!! I would do do this trip again !
