Could not have been more pleased with our tour. Nuno was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable of the rich history and culture of Portugal. We felt very lucky to have him guide us.

We booked a private Sintra tour through Sintra Lovers on Viator on March 28, 2026 for a June 8, 2026 tour and prepaid in full. On May 27, less than two weeks before our scheduled tour, we received an email stating that our tour had been canceled, with no explanation provided. Canceling a confirmed, prepaid booking on such short notice is both unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially for travelers who carefully plan their itineraries months in advance. We had heard wonderful things about Sintra Lovers and were looking forward to the experience, which makes the disappointment even greater. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be using this company on our return visit to Portugal.

Amazing tour with an equally amazing tour guide!! We loved Nuno! He was extremely knowledgeable, considerate, personable, and the perfect tour guide. He made us feel very comfortable and taught us a lot about the history of the area. We didn't have enough time to tour the well, but the Pena palace was outstanding, and the lakes trail was beautiful. We highly recommend Nuno and this tour!

Diogo was an excellent tour guide! We had an amazing day. Very knowledgeable and social. Wear good walking shoes because, depending on what you choose to do, there will be a lot of walking!

We had an excellent day touring Sintra with our guide, Ricardo. He picked us up right in front of our VRBO and took us to several incredible stops, including Sintra, Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais. Ricardo was raised in Sintra and knew all the history and efficient routes. The vehicle, a Mazda 5, worked well for four people. It was a little underpowered at times, but overall it was comfortable enough and effective for the day. Ricardo took us to a local restaurant that was excellent, well priced, and not crowded. Going to this restaurant also allowed us to get dropped off right in front of Quinta da Regaleira afterwards, which was a huge time saver. From there, the Initiation Well was just a short walk up, making that part of the visit much easier and more convenient. Quinta da Regaleira did require us to buy a ticket, which we purchased on the way. However, because it is such a popular and busy site, the time slot we needed was nearly sold out. I would definitely recommend planning this in advance with your guide, especially if Regaleira is high on your list. I would also recommend coordinating with your guide ahead of time if you already know the places you want to visit. That way, they can help plan the day as efficiently as possible. The monuments around Sintra are spread out and can be difficult to access if you do not know the area, so having a guide made a big difference. In my opinion, a guide is the best way to make the most of your time, get the most out of the experience, and avoid a lot of potential frustration. This was a memorable and very worthwhile day trip. Thanks Ricardo!
