On this tour you can select 1 (one) out of the 6 (six) different Palaces in Sintra to visit on the inside and then spend some time cruising along to see the rest from the outside, while stopping at certain viewpoints from the hills all the way until the coast.
As a local, with 5+ years of experience in the field, you can expect our guide Nuno to teach you not only about the history of the sites you're going to see, but to also include your group in the culture and tradition of the region so this way you will feel like a true local!

What To Expect
Sintra National Palace
Standing in the historical heart of Sintra, this is the best-preserved medieval royal residence in Portugal, being inhabited more or less continuously from at least the early 15th century to the late 19th century. We will be able to see this Palace from the outside from different viewpoints along to way to the other monuments. As an alternative to visiting other Palaces, it's also possible to spend some free time exploring the old town next to the Sintra National Palace. Access to the Gardens of the Sintra National Palace is free of admission, however to visit the interior rooms of the Palace a ticket is required.
Palacio e Parque Biester
The Biester Palace dates back to the last two decades of the 19th century (1880-1890), and is a Romantic work par excellence, eclectic and exuberant, with elegant elevations that reveal the good taste of the period at its peak. The execution of the magnificent frescoes and carvings, which richly decorate all the walls, was given to the most renowned artists, Luigi Manini and Leandro Braga. PLEASE NOTE: - Visiting the Grounds, Gardens or the Palace itself is optional, however if you wish to select this monument to visit on the inside, then we highly recommend this choice. - The visit to the Grounds, Gardens or Palace is self-guided and you'll be given some free time to explore. - Tickets are NOT included in the price of the tour!

Meeting Point in Sintra: You will be able to meet up with your local guide at the Sintra Coffee Lovers Cafe besides the Sintra Train Station. Duration: 2 hours: Approximately Palaces Highlights : With this option you'll be able to see the main Palaces from the outside at specific viewpoints along the route. 7-Seater Minivan or Car Express Tour Option: Select this if you're planning on going to Sintra on your own but would like a quick overview of the area with a local guide!
Full Day Tour (8H)
Cascais: This option also includes an additional stop in the Beachtown of Cascais if there is enough time left on the tour. 5.00Nuno made our outing extra special with all the details—how to access the palace with the shortest wait time, the best photo opportunity for the Moor castle, how to order our pastry and enjoy it in the palace garden in Sintra, etc. The list is too long. He has a wealth of historical knowledge and is very personable. We definitely think it was worth the splurge.

5.00Sintra was beautiful. The palaces and fort are amazing. The history is so interesting and the area beautiful. Be prepared to walk on uneven terrain. The town is a mixture of quaint and historic, and very friendly. The pastries are excellent and regional food delicious, but what really made the trip was our guide, Nomo. His knowledge of history, ecology and the area was very impressive. He was a great guide and very patient. Highly recommend him.
