On this tour, you will cross a canal inside the nature reserve that is surrounded by various types of mangroves. This protects from strong winds and helps you to paddle easily in peaceful waters.
The best part of this tour is to enjoy the incredible glittering water of the "Big Lagoon"! Tiny bioluminescent organisms called "pyrodiniums bahamenses" are the responsible for this wonder of nature. They produce blue-green light from top to bottom of this bay every time you touch or move the water with your kayak!

Maximum weight per person is 245 pounds. For safety reasons, customers will be weighed at check-in.
Bioluminescent is a beautiful experience and with or without moon we could use a tarp.
Kayaks are double (2 people per kayak). Odd numbers groups will be paired with another person on the tour. Single kayaks cannot be guaranteed to odd numbers. Children will only be assigned with their parents or family member of the same party.
All participants must be able to row the kayak and complete the tour.
Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or with any type of misconduct won't be allowed.
The Bioluminescent effect is a natural phenomenon that varies continuously and cannot be predicted nor 100% guaranteed.
Pregnant travelers cannot participate

Our experienced guides will show you the wonders of the natural reserve, including paddling between a mangrove canal and getting to the bioluminescent bay. Once at the bay the guides will detailed explain you the ecosystem and all the surroundings.

3.00The guides were very charismatic, nice friendly, and fun. But was disappointed by the anti climactic bioluminescent bay lights. Not as bright as we anticipated. The guides place you under a tarp, but could only see tiny flares of light.

5.00So fun! I was the only solo traveler in my group, so they paired me with William, one of the guides. He was so kind and so patient. I felt like a princess on the way back when he told me to stop rowing. 🤣 The mangroves were really interesting, and the bay was so peaceful. Highly recommend!

5.00This was a fun experience for our trip to Puerto Rico! The tour guides were fun, knowledgeable and very forgiving of our inability to kayak :) The trip to the bay was just as much fun as seeing the bioluminescence!
Great Experience, recommend the earlier departure.

5.00Great experience and our guides were great! There were lots of different skill levels in the group, so does require some patience for those more experienced. Don’t forget your bug spray, apply generously before you depart!!! As most services like this, tips are expected in addition to the cost. We did the earlier trip that started at 6:45 and I loved that one as we got to see the mangroves and path on the way to the lagoon, but it was pitch black on the way back. We were unloaded and in our car by 8:25.

3.00We went for the 8:30pm Bioluminescent tour. We got in the water around 8:45pm and out of the water 10:20pm. So about 2 hours. They called and told us that morning the bioluminescent wasn’t that bright and provided an opportunity to cancel which was nice. We ended up going. I loved learning to kayak, see the stars, and learn about the science and history of the bioluminescence. The atmosphere was a bit intense lol but could’ve been due to me being inexperienced with kayaking. It felt rushed and like a race to get out there and come right back. I wish there were more resting breaks. This activity would be best for people who like high-intensity kayaking and are not looking for a more peaceful/calm kayaking tour. Still very cool just a bit to intense for me.

5.00The bioluminescence wasn’t at its brightest the night we went, but they still made it a great experience for us. I really appreciated the phone call ahead of time explaining they couldn’t guarantee a bright neon experience. We were offered a full refund if we decided to cancel, but I’m glad we decided to go anyway. The guides made sure we still experienced the bioluminescent waters by tying our boats together and allowing us to cover in tarps to block out more natural light and see the glow better. The guides were friendly, funny, and very helpful.

5.00Had to kayak further than I thought, but it was an amazing time. All 3 guides were awesome and went above and beyond to take care of the group. Very professional all around and will recommend to anyone, especially novices like me.
