Snorkel the world's second largest great barrier reef, located right off the beach at Puerto Morelos, a 15 minutes drive from Cancun. Definitely the best snorkel en Mexico, the great barrier reef is home to many different species of fish and colorful corals.
We take you to explore one the best locations of the reef, after snorkeling take some time to wander the charming town of Puerto Morelos or just relax on the beach. Finally enjoy lunch at Boquinete, TripAdvisor's #1 restaurant in Puerto Morelos located right by the beach.

The use of sunscreen and photo or video cameras is not allowed to prevent any damages and deterioration of the reef. Instead, we recommend you to wear a sun protection swim shirt.

National Reef Park of Puerto Morelos
Explore the stunning tropical seascapes at the world's second largest reef formation, the Great Maya Reef, during an hourlong snorkeling adventure. Swim along the surface surrounded by colorful fish and keep your eyes opened for crabs, lobsters and even sea turtles.

Following your snorkeling adventure, dry up and head to our beachside restaurant for a delicious light lunch with great sea views featuring traditional fish tacos. Top off your experience with some free time in central Puerto Morelos, where you can see the iconic leaning lighthouse, relax on the beach, or embark on a holiday shopping spree in the market.

1.00The Good: Snorkling and seeing the reef The Bad: While in the water you are constantly being rushed or directed this way or that by the guides in the water and you cannot take your time and enjoy the views The UGLY: After the excursion, you are forced to sit through a Tequila tasting session to sell their product to you..even if you do not want to. You are then taken past a lot of nice looking restaurants to someone's backyard where you eat cold Tyson chicken tacos (horrible food) while they try to sell you their $18 drinks. They then delay your transport back to your resort while they try to sell you drinks at their "restaurant". Save your money and take an Uber or taxi to Puerto Morelos public beach. You can rent snorkels or bring your own and swim out from the beach to reef structures in the water and see the same if not more wildlife than you can see on this excursion. I would not recommend this excursion.
