While making our way to our kayaking location, learn about life in Seward from your driver-guide, who will narrate as we make our way through town. As we leave the paved streets of Seward, we’ll travel along the shoreline of Resurrection Bay on the gravel surface of Lowell Road. We’ll view turquoise blue waters and beautiful mountain vistas while we travel comfortably by van to our beach.
Participants must be 8 years old and a minimum of 50 lb to participate. Paddlers over 6'4" or 250 lb will not fit in our kayaks.
Upon reaching our launch location, you’ll meet your kayaking guides for a quick briefing before heading out onto the water. It’s common to encounter sea otters, harbor seals, bald eagles and leaping salmon as we kayak. We may stop to take a short walk on the beach along Tonsina Creek to view a salmon spawning stream (active mid-July to early-September). This the perfect trip for those experiencing kayaking for the first time or for those short on time.

After posting a review earlier this week, the owner reached out and resolved the reimbursement issue. While I'm glad it was taken care of, it is frustrating that writing a review was what prompted action — I had already contacted Viator and spoken with someone in the office the day of the trip. In retrospect, our mistake was booking through Viator rather than directly with Sunny Cove. Below is my original review, which I have since removed. The trip itself was wonderful — the reimbursement situation was the only disappointment: The kayaking excursion itself was excellent. Our guides were highly skilled and attentive, the weather was beautiful, and they handled the needs of two older members of our party with great care and professionalism. My dissatisfaction stems entirely from the business practices surrounding this booking. One member of our party was forced to withdraw at the last minute due to an emergency. We successfully obtained a full reimbursement for every other component of his trip, including airfare, with the sole exception of this kayaking activity. When I raised this issue with Sunny Cove following the completion of our excursion, I was told, "We don't get paid by Viator until after the trip is done." This explanation does not hold up: once Sunny Cove receives payment from Viator, there is no apparent reason a reimbursement could not be issued. The refusal to do so reflects poorly on the company's business practices. There are plenty of kayaking companies with good reviews - I would look elsewhere.

This was a great kayaking trip and we got to see seals, a sea loin and otters. Maggie and Chloe were excellent guides. It is perfect for any level of experience.

We had such a great time! Christian and Kendel were amazing guides! We had a great size of 11 people and the atmosphere was so hype. Best for teens who can sit still for about 2 hours!

Resurrection Bay is a great place to kayak . If you want a tour where the guides treat you like you are a 10 year-old with constant instruction and rules, then this is your tour. Next time I will just rent a sea kayak and do my own tour. They did have good gear though.

My instructor, Maggie, was very friendly and great company. The weather was a bit choppy but I was able to take in great views nonetheless.

Our kayaking trip was amazing! Zeke and Amanda were great guides, very informative, welcoming, fun personalities, and allowed us to explore while giving personal interactions. Although it was raining, their positivity and enthusiasm made the trip enjoyable and exciting! The staff at the shop and transportation drivers were helpful clear with directions. I would highly recommend!

We went on an amazing kayaking tour with Zeke and James as our guides. I wasn't sure what to expect but they made the whole experience worthwhile! They had all the gear necessary if you forgot to bring something and were very knowledgeable about the area and all the sea animals. We saw harbor seals, dolphin, bald eagles, and more. I would highly recommend to anyone to do this tour. I hope to have the opportunity to do this again!

Our guides were Matthew and Taylor. They were great! We were a family group of 3, so our son paddled with Taylor. We saw a ton of wildlife (sea otters, bald eagles, river otters, cormorants) and had a great time. The vistas were beautiful. One of the highlights of our Alaska adventure!
