What To Expect
Røvær Island – A Hidden Gem off Haugesund Just 10 km northwest of Haugesund lies Røvær, a small island community with around 100 residents. This scenic archipelago offers a peaceful glimpse of coastal life, with charming boathouses, a cultural hotel, and friendly locals. Visitors can explore walking trails, learn about Viking and wartime history, and enjoy panoramic sea views from Varden, the island’s highest point, where a WWII pillbox still stands. Please note that weather conditions may occasionally require an alternative route for safety and comfort.
Feøy – A Peaceful Island Escape near Haugesund Just west of Haugesund lies Feøy, a tranquil island group known for its unspoiled nature and strong coastal traditions. With around 50 year-round residents, Feøy offers a glimpse of authentic island life as you pass by on your RIB adventure. From the sea, you’ll spot traditional boathouses, the charming Feøy Brygge – once an old wharf, now a meeting place and restaurant – and open landscapes where sheep graze near the shore. During World War II, German forces occupied the island due to its key role in the Norwegian resistance network. Today, Feøy remains a peaceful community surrounded by sea, history, and natural beauty.

4.00My husband and I did the Rib Safari Tour in Haugesund while in Norway. Our guide was informative during the first part when we went to see some small villages. However, when we headed back, we went along the bank of the town of Haugesund and it would have been nice to give us some information of the buildings we passed by. Also, I was disappointed that the tour including instructions and suiting up only lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes instead of 2 that was stated on the tour when we booked it. Also, when we removed our suits, they just put everything back without sanitizing anything and handed out our used goggles to the next group. Not a good idea in my opinion. It was fun but not sure I would recommend it to others.

4.00If you are compromised you may find this a bit tough...I am short and you need to straddle the 'saddle' .....I was behind a very big guy and it was hard to see. The operators however were great and very safety conscious! Saw a lot of very i teresting little islands!

5.00So much fun! I had a blast on this tour. Suited up in the provided gear and set out for some scenic adventures and thrills. The seas were calm the day we were out so it was not as bumpy a ride as I can assume it might be. Partner was cold as gloves were not provided as it was not raining/snowing. Our ship offered RIB excursions in other ports, but chose to book this one independently and it was a better value. Throughly enjoyed seeing the remote villages and loved doing the 360s in the open ocean. I took my camera and was able to get a few photos and video, but wished I would have brought the GoPro instead.

5.00A fantastic trip with great Captain who sure could handle the Rib. Went out over to the Islands and it really was a great experience. Once returned close to the Ship he opened the throttle and boy did he increase the speed. A fantastic trip which if you are visiting then a must do trip.

5.00We loved the RIB safari! We cannot thank Viking Adventure enough for accommodating a late change for us. We were originally booked on the Himikana hike and after Pulpit Rock the day before, we felt like we needed to change our plans. VA has a wide range of options for you in Haugesund and I am positive that you would enjoy any choice you make with them. Thank you Viking Adventure!

5.00Our Stavanger RIB safari tour was a blast. It was a serious boat ride. The tour itself was more intensive than we were expecting, which was a welcomed surprise. Prepare to accelerate or blast off into the waves. We sat in the front of the boat, so we did get some spray and some airtime. (Again, no complaints on any of that). You’ll see cute little sea towns with 8 residents and no cars. The tour itself ended a bit earlier than advertised and it was more difficult to find the meeting point location. The directions provided were very poor, as we stepped off our cruise ship.
