Take a scenic walk with a picnic in the company of a pair of adorable Miniature Mediterranean Donkeys. This is a tiny group experience, where you meet, groom & hug the dinky donkeys before popping on their little panniers to carry your picnic along the scenic valley. The total experience lasts 2 hrs, and you will have ample chance to interact with these little guys.
This is a small group activity that single people can book as a join-in session with up to 4 people, or groups of 4 upwards can book just for themselves as a private session. Whilst there is no upper limit of number of people in a group booking, please contact us for rates for over 4 people per session.
We regret that dogs cannot accompany this walk as the donkeys can be aggressive towards them.

What To Expect
Meet and groom the mini donkeys, then walk across farmland and ancient paths along a quiet scenic valley. Part way along the walk, you'll have a snack picnic (included) with Crisps, Welsh Cakes, Granola Bar, fruit and a soft drink, which the donkeys will carry for you. Gluten-free and vegan diets also catered for if given advance warning. The walk has some sections with moderate inclines but we can walk as slowly as needed. The experience is aimed at adults. Quiet animal-loving teenagers are welcome but must be accompanied by a paying adult. No children will be allowed to lead a donkey alone. Private sessions are possible for groups of x 4 and this is recommended if any children are attending. You can pay for a private session to have the donkeys to yourself, otherwise with join-in sessions there will be max 4 people but you will be sharing leading one of the Dinks. We normally start the experience at 10am or 2pm. Please enquire for other dates and if you wanted to request a specific start time.

5.00Beautiful location! The dinky donkeys are even cuter than I expected! Don’t want to give too much away but the walk is lovely and the picnic pit stop is perfect. Julia was amazing - really knowledgable and a great host. Really recommend this for anyone who loves donkeys!

5.00Our foraging walk to the Dinky Donks was the highlight of our trip to Wales! We were a large group from age 9 to age 67 and everyone of us had a wonderful time. Our guides were kind and knowledgable, the location was absolutely enchanting and the donkies were delightful characters. We loved our experience and would recommend it to everyone. Thank you!

5.00We spent a fantastic afternoon with Goose and Maverick. These two dinky donkeys were adorable and lots of fun to walk. Our host Julia put us at ease and was very knowledgeable. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back.

5.00This was for a birthday surprise and it couldn't have been more perfect. The little donkeys, Maverick and Goose were adorable and Julia was a welcoming host for our trip into the countryside, where we all chatted and got to know the donkeys. We stopped along the way for our picnic and a drink and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Julia also took lots of photos of us and shared them with us later which we really appreciated. Highly recommended and thank you Julia, for accommodating our unforeseen lateness! Best wishes and big ear scratches for Maverick and Goose for being so well behaved.

5.00This is a fantastic idea. We initially wanted the the Pignic, but was booked up on weekend for most of the summer, so recommend booking early, but saying that we managed to get a mini donkey walk for the dates we wanted. The booking it self was easy and received emails explaining everything and directions were great. We were lucky to have perfect weather, but I think in the setting of the Brecon Beacons you can’t go wrong. As soon as I saw Julia, I could tell she was going to be fun. Very informative and passionate about the animals. Gave us the low down before we started so we knew what to expect,. Gave Maverick and Goose a little groom, then off we went. Had so much fun, the other couple walking the other mini donkey was a great laugh which just added to the experience. We stopped for a picnic before headed back. Julia and the animals were a great pleasure and so glad we did it. Can’t wait to book the next one. Great idea for a gift too.

5.00Four of us had a wonderful morning with the Dinky Donkey gang. The whole experience was lovely - Maverick and Goose were very mischievous and the setting very tranquil walking through the woodlands. It was great fun and we had perfect weather to enjoy cuddles with the dinky donks and the surroundings. Julia was a perfect host providing lots of info, a delicious picnic and taking lots of photos of our group as we went along. Recommend without hesitation - I would be there every week if we lived closer!

5.00Such a brilliant morning spent with maverick and goose. They are really special and very funny. Julia is a great host, giving us plenty of information about the donkeys as well as some funny stories. We really didn’t want to leave! Can’t recommend this enough for animal lovers or anyone who really just wants to get away from it all for a couple of hours. The surroundings are spectacular.

5.00I love this experience so much, I just keep going back! Julia is a fantastic and knowledgeable host and Maverick and Goose, the dinky donkeys, are so scrumptious and fun. This time I took my friend Claire for her special birthday treat and we had a beautiful walk with the dinks in the glorious sunshine, along the lanes and through the bluebells. It was spectacular. Anyone looking at doing this experience should just book it - you won't be disappointed. And Maverick gives the BEST cuddles - you won't want to leave!
