What To Expect
Our gear kit includes the following: 7mm wetsuit mask and snorkel 7mm dive gloves 7mm dive booties dive hood flippers Our experienced guides will assist all guests to make sure they are able to don the suits. Once everyone is properly suited up and outfitted, we will all hop in the Snorkelmobile and drive to one of our two dive sites. At the dive site, we will walk down into the water over a rocky shore. Both dive sites have relatively easy, walk-in entry, but will require walking over rocks. Once in the water, our knowledgable guides will swim with you, using a foamy surfboard in case anyone needs to rest or has any trouble. Our guide will also help point out wildlife. After 40-60 minutes in the water, we will all gather onshore and dry off. Afterwards we will drop our guests off downtown for their next adventure. If you are on a cruise, we will work with you to make sure you don’t miss your departure.

5.00First off - my family (husband, wife, and 2 daughters) were nervous about this experience. We shouldn't have worried. The wet suits kept us warm and comfortable. There was a slight shock when we first walked in, but otherwise it was not a problem. The actual snorkeling was terrific. We saw lots of things that you'd never come across while snorkeling in the tropica. We saw HUUuGE sea stars, giant kelp, abalone, sea cucumbers, schools of fish, and crabs. Go for it!

5.00Great - one of the best things we did in Sitka and definitely the most unique! Great company with great staff - the whole experience was very professional. Our group had ages 14 to 76 with some having lots of experience and others having no prior experience and we all loved it!

5.00It was amazing. We were all a bit nervous about freezing to death, but the wet suits worked perfectly. Quick run down for those who like lots of details: They picked us up at the tour pickup place on time. They drove us to their store, fitted us out with wetsuits, gloves, boots, hoods, mask and snorkel. We just wore bathing suits under the wetsuit. They drove us to Magic Island. I will say we got lucky - it was low tide and not very wavy (it was cold and rainy, but that didn’t matter once you were in the water anyway). It truly was magical. We saw all the things we’d seen in the Sitka touch tank aquarium and a WHOLE bunch more. We took kids (14 and 17, they did have snorkel experience), 3 adults (one who’s never been snorkeling), and my 77 year old mother (who used to scuba dive, but now mostly just does light hiking). We all did great! My sister (the one with no experience) said it was the best thing she’s ever done in her life (and she was pretty nervous about the whole thing). The kids acted like kids again which is wonderful to see. My mother did amazing, she was tired at the end but she is 77. We did rent a go pro. We haven’t looked at the videos yet, but I’m looking forward to reliving it all when we get home. After the swim, they poured some hot water over our hands (very helpful) and we walked back to the van. Short drive back to the store where we changed (you absolutely need a full set of dry clothes, towels, and a warm jacket and pants to throw on). Then we got hot chocolate and some snacks and a ride back down town. We also got some great ideas on places to eat and hike while in Sitka (and Juneau). Absolutely amazing experience, no one froze to death (we were actually pretty warm considering the 45 degree water temp). If you’re having any doubts, DON’T! Just do it! No regrets, best experience in Alaska so far!

5.00so i am eleven and went with my dad. we have snorkeled in hawaii before but not with a tour guide. the instructor was super nice and very helpful the whole time. once we got in the water it was super cold which was expected because it’s the ocean in alaska. we saw really cool animals like starfish and little jellyfish, and even though it was my first time really snorkeling it was still a blast! it was really cold however so halfway through i swam back while the rest of the group kept looking at the animals. Would definitely recommend however just be prepared to be chilly. ☺️😋😉

5.00This was a magical experience. Because our group was so small, we had a 2:1 visitor to guide ratio which allowed for plenty of time in the water. They took us out into the kelp forest and to a rocky area just past that since we were at low tide. We got to see things I’ve only ever dreamed of seeing with my own eyes! I will definitely be doing this excursion again!

5.00Great experience to try whenever you have 3 hours available whether you're on a cruise or just looking for something new. Staff was very friendly and Alyssa was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw. This is a small independent operator, so don't expect a fancy showroom or anything. This is an energetic and sometimes intense experience!
