There’s no better way to learn about the history and culture of a community than to eat its food. On our Newfoundland Food Tour, you will walk and eat your way through downtown St. John’s. Newfoundland and Labrador has one of the most unique food cultures in Canada. Long known for seafood, wild game, and delicious traditional meals, the province has a long list of mouth-watering ingredients and recipes. From a CFA finding success selling beloved Newfoundland pastry to a haunted pub that inspired a TV set to a former fruit stand literally built on the ashes of the Great Fire, we’ll explore the people, stories, and food that make the city unique.
Come hungry! If you arrive gut-foundered, by the time we finish our walk, you’ll be stogged. And yes...we'll teach you what those local terms mean. ;)

Melissa made our food tour a great experience. We visited 6 different restaurants and ate delicious food that was linked to Newfoundland. Melissa explained the origin of each food and told us some of the history along the way. It was very educational and enjoyable.

A great way to see the in and outs of the city, learn about it's history and taste the local fare. The walk was easy and the food varied and plentiful. If you take the tour make sure you are "gut founded" (hungry) before you start!

We learned things we didn’t know to ask about. We heard about a few centuries of history, local culture, and customs, some of the personalities, recent and remote, various edifices and small spots around town, all told with humour and heart. About 10,000 steps with some staircases and hills.

Pierre was a great guide. Lots of good stories and local history on the tour. Really enjoyed trying some of the local cuisine… moose burger, tautons, flakys and so much more. Finished the tour with some excellent locally made ice cream. Come hungry for sure
