Action packed fjord cruise into the majestic Lysefjord. We'll start by gliding out of the harbor before accelerating to a thrilling 30 knots. Unlike traditional RIB-boat, our vessel offer enhanced comfort with spacious decks and seating areas, ensuring smooth ride and excellent photo opportunities. On our way we'll pass idyllic islands, fish-farms and small villages. After we pass Lysefjord-bridge the scenery change into massive rock formations. We'll visit Vagabond's cave where some rather shady people hid from the sheriff. We'll also behold the world-renowned Pulpit rock as is stands 604 meters above the fjord. Learn how it was made and why the fjord is shaped as it is. Lastly, hear the fascinating story of why "Whiskey-falls" got its nickname. Beware, captain might put the boat into the waterfall!

In some cases, a free upgrade is provided, where one strecth of the tour is conducted by minibus for better comfort and additional sights, also ensuring you don’t travel same route twice.

What To Expect

Stavanger

The tour start in our boathouse in Strandkaien 34, located in the heart of Stavanger harbour and a very short walking distance from the cruise terminal. Here you will be able to sit down and relax, use our WC, put on the floating suit etc. You will also meet the captain which will help you to put on the safety equipment. He will also give you a small safety brief before boarding the boat. We start off slowly by gliding out of Stavanger harbour while passing mighty cruiseships or other vessels. On the way out you will have a beautiful view of the city centre and to some of the iconic buildings like "Tollboden" and the Norwegian oil museum. After we pass the bridge you will see a gigantic street art painting before we then accelerate to a thrilling 25-35 knots and head to Lysefjorden. Note: due to capacity restraints and regulations we might have to depart from another dock nearby. Fjord Xplore will provide free transfer (<5 min. drive).

The Lysefjord, spanning an impressive 42 kilometers, is a marvel of natural beauty nestled in the heart of Norway. The fjord, carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age, showcases a dramatic landscape where steep mountains, adorned with lush emerald forests and cascading waterfalls, rise sharply from pristine waters. World renowned natural formations draw thousands to the fjord every year, including Pulpit Rock, a flat topped cliff offering breathtaking views. As you venture through its narrow corridor, you’ll be on the lookout for the bustling wildlife that inhabits the region. On a good day it will be possible to spot seals, porpoises, sea eagles, and more.

  • Not worth our time or money

Many of the reviews reference a speedboat with a cover and way to get out of the wind. Not so on this boat. In fact one photo show a couple having wine and a snack. We were in float suits, protected from the wind that way, with goggles to protect our eyes. Once 6 of us jammed into the back of the boat around the table, we sped at 45 mph out to a couple of sites. Pulpit rock and Whiskey Falls, with a bonus couple of mountain goats. Our captain didn't say anything. Someone asked what the rock was made of. He didn't know. It was granite said the recorded speech he played at the couple of stops. 45 min out 15 min to see the sites and 45 back. There was no benefit to this boat over the RIBs that went speeding by, if your goal is to see these sites. You can Google them and save your money and time.

  • This was amazing...

This was amazing experience. The big boats seemed boring and the rib boats were so exposed and really tight on space. This was a perfect blend of them both. We were a group of 4 and were joined by another group of 4 later in the journey. There was plenty of room for all. Our captain was great and gave us a wild ride.

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how awesome this excursion was! We loved it all. The speedboat experience was simply amazing and words can’t describe the awe of the fjord. I was glad to have brought my earmuffs and gloves and hat. The goggles didn’t fit over my sunglasses but the sunglasses worked fine.

I was upgraded to include the shuttle bus and snack. The bus ride was in a new Mercedes and quite pleasant. There's just one stop, but going through the famous tunnel was a cool experience. The speed boat was fabulous probably in great part because it wasn't crowded! All but two people sat in the from if the boat, leaving all of the boat for me and one other person to move around taking pictures and laying back. The guide opened the top of the boat for us to look and maneuvered the boat so everyone got great photos and great views. I had a fabulous time! I wish I could spend my life on these shores.

  • Truly memorable 👍

There are plenty of options to visit Lysefjord by boat and see Preikestolen from below. This trip in my opinion was the best option of all. The boat is brand new, very comfortable with cover in the event of rain and yet travels incredibly fast. They have a permanent building at the harbour wth bar and seating areas and changing rooms. They equip you with dry suits, gloves, and goggles. The skipper was Kjetil who was friendly, informative and made the trip a truly memorable experience. Some boats may be a little cheaper, but you only do this trip once. So I recommend booking with this team. We were very lucky as there were only 5 of us on the boat.

  • A great day out

Firstly, we were really happy and grateful to be collected from our ship and dropped back after the activity. We were docked in the neighboring town of Sandnes and were pleasantly surprised to be collected as it was a 15 minute drive away. We were given warm and waterproof suits to wear which made us very comfortable. We also had a choice between sitting in front of the boat or inside which was able to be sheltered from the wind and rain. Captain Jim was a great source of information about the area and was able to drive up close to the cliffs to show us points of interest. The weather was uncertain so the prior communications whether the activity was still happening was most appreciated. All in all the activity was a great experience and highly recommended.

This tour was absolutely wonderful. Brand new boat and fast. Chilly, windy and rainy today and we were so glad we chose the so what enclosed space. At the stops it was easy to move up to the uncovered bow

A very well organized trip. Our boat Captain/guide Jim was very informative and made it a really enjoyable excursion. The boat was lovely with just a small group and sheltered from the wind! Would highly recommend this over the Rib option.

Modern new speedboat that is very smooth. Area to be covered if you prefer. Guide takes you up close to fjords and makes the trip personal and enjoyable. Highly recommend vs. a rib boat. More comfortable.

  • Highlight of our trip!

This tour was the highlight of our Scandinavian trip. The other detailed reviews are spot on. We loved going right up to the waterfall and getting a sip of the fresh water. The captain was very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions. We felt absolutely safe the whole time, and was so glad we didn't pick one of the other tours with a large boat and many passengers. A once in a lifetime experience for us.
