From the moment we arrived -Mauro and Natalia made us feel right at home. They are excellent hosts. Their kitchen has a real wood burning pizza oven! With Mauro’s help, we made delicious focaccia and pizza margarita. Such a thrilling experience. Makes me want to build a pizza oven at home. We also made fresh pasta from scratch! It reminded me of my days as a five year old in my Italian grandmother’s kitchen. Not to mention tiramisu and the outstanding wine, Parmesan Reggiano cheese, ham, vegetables and after dinner digestives. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, lovely hosts and to make new friends-we highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

I thought it would be a few nibbles, a glass of wine and we’d be on our way. I guess I knew nothing know Italian cooks. I lost count of the number of appetizers our wonderful hostess showed us how to make from simple ingredients, plus a delicious leek tart. Then the wine started flowing. Altogether a great way to start our trip to Italy.

What a lovely evening I had with Cristina and Enzo! Cristina patiently showed me how to prepare a true Parma style aperitivo, while both she and her husband entertained me with great conversation and wine. They also have the loveliest home, right in the centre of Parma. I highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing evening of cooking and great conversation.
