Catedral de Barcelona
The Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulàlia watches impassively the passing of time in a constantly moving and changing Barcelona. The Cathedral also reflects the different generations who have left their imprint and the blend of architectural styles in this predominantly Gothic building which needs to be viewed inside in order to fully understand its splendor.
The Jewish Quarter of medieval Barcelona is home to one of Europe’s oldest synagogues, which has been restored and opened to the public. From the 9th century to the 14th century Barcelona had a large Jewish community that is thought to have numbered around 4,000 people. Two neighbourhoods of narrow streets, called "calls" from the Hebrew word "kahal", which means community or congregation, sprung up around them.

Tour guide was exceptional…knowledgeable about art in general , Picasso’s life, influences, friends, other artists of the times, etc. Not too exotic or detailed, but increased my understanding. High energy and expressive with excellent English. Plenty to see there after the tour; nicely curated gift shop-no tourista junk.

I knew the book and being a few days in Barcelona I wanted to come and see this wonder, for its simplicity and its size. It 'a unique church from the outside is all in very linear gray stone just the facade with the rose window, the two towers and the facade all carved and the columns that look knotted. really a wonder.

Once you read the book of the same title, you want to go and meet it, and since you are there you live the history of everything that has surrounded the city. While inside the cathedral you live in the past, its darkness, its silence, its height, the same people change. And when you leave the neighborhood is still an adventure, you start combining history with modern, with people everywhere, with streets full of sales, but always enjoying every street every building.

We are very happy we booked this guided tour and recommend it strongly. We didn't realise we had booked a Spanish tour, but the tour guide was willing to translate to English for us. She had a lot of knowledge about the book and about Barcelona. The group was small and we were able to ask any questions we had. It was very special that we were allowed inside many of the buildings.

We bought the Groupon coupon and the map that accompanies the coupon shows the number 38 of Portal del Ángel .. nothing starts there the route and when you book you are not informed of another point .. it is super bad indicated and when we tried to contact them on the day in question there was no way to talk. Finally we found the guide started already the tour and had not been informed of our reservation despite having us the ok in our mail. Pretty unfortunate... a little disgusting organization. I don't think we'll repeat or recommend it.

I transport myself to the narration of the book with the same name, very beautiful, in a very typical neighborhood of Barcelona.

Not one of the best tours I've ever done. There is a lack of content and historical context and more involvement of the guide. Some aspects were unclear.

It is a very interesting tour, and when we arrived at the church of the virgin of the sea we were surprised by the beautiful simplicity of its interior, and seeing the small image of the virgin on the altar closes with this story perfectly.

The guide led us through the spaces of the Cathedral of the Sea in a professional way, with historical knowledge. He explained the tour and its history in a pleasant, professional and, most importantly, from the heart. That explains why I remember everything clearly when normally in these cases after a while I no longer remember anything...! Thanks for the experience.
