He shared more knowledge than we could hope to retain but kept us all fascinated as he walked us through his domain. The world he and his wife have created is inspiring.. If you are interested in the medicinal qualities of plants and how to live off the land, this is a must!

5.00This was one of the most grounding and beautiful experiences we did in La Fortuna. From the moment we arrived at Ticote Medicine Farm, we felt welcomed into a space that was alive and intentional. The farm felt like a living apothecary, full of healing plants and vibrant green life all around us. It was peaceful and rich with stories of traditional herbal wisdom and the way nature supports everyday life here. Our guide walked us slowly through different plants, explaining how they are used medicinally and culturally. Nothing felt rushed. It felt like a conversation, like being invited to see the land in a deeper way. We did the night tour, which made it even more special. Walking through the farm in the dark with flashlights felt like stepping into another world. We found frogs tucked into leaves, tiny lizards blending into branches, an opossum moving quietly through the trees, and yes… bullet ants. Seeing them up close was both fascinating and slightly intimidating, but it made the experience feel real and wild in the best way. What I loved most was how personal it felt. It was not a big, chaotic group. It felt thoughtful and intentional. By the end, I felt calmer and more connected, like I had learned something that will stay with me long after the trip. If you are looking for something reflective and rooted in nature, especially if you love plants and wildlife, this is such a beautiful experience.
