Northern Lights in Focus is a small-group journey into the Arctic night, guided by people who live here and know how to read it.
We leave the city behind and head into the wilderness, following weather forecasts, local knowledge, and real-time conditions to find the best possible place to experience the Northern Lights. There is no fixed route — every chase is shaped by clouds, light, and the Arctic itself.
To keep you warm, insulated winter overalls are provided. During the night, we gather around a small campfire to enjoy a homemade meal, hot drinks, and a sweet treat.
When the aurora appears, your guide — also a photographer — will take portraits of you beneath the lights. These photos are included and shared with you after the tour.
Whether the lights are strong or subtle, this is about sharing a real Arctic night together!

A fantastic evening and despite a disappointing forecast we were taken to a fjord around 1.5 hours from Tromso and the aurora danced across the sky. Luxurious minibus and picked up directly from outside our rental property. Staff very kind and knowledgeable. Top quality photos provided and tasty soup by the campfire.

Great excursion - Michael is a very knowledgeable guide, Joan a great photographer and Monika a very safe driver. It was an experience m, even though the aurora was not so strong. See you next time!

I joined one of Blue Puffin's northern lights chasing tours as a last minute attempt to see the northern lights after no luck over three weeks of travelling, and I'm so glad I did! Not only was the tour very well run with a fantastic guide Linda and driver Maciej, we had incredible success with seeing the lights! Linda and Maciej managed to find a perfect spot by a frozen lake at the exact right moment for the clouds to part and for us to see an incredible aurora, complete with pinks, blues and purples. They worked so hard to find the right spot, and to ensure everyone got photos, kept warm and had food. I would (and have) recommended this tour to everyone coming to the Tromso area!

Under bad weather conditions with Linda in Finland still found it. Great Northern Lights with a super guide and Adam as the sovereign driver. Great supporting program with very delicious lentil soup, cookies and tea. Several tours booked with Blue Puffin and all highly recommended!!! Anytime again.

Guides were wonderful, the northern lights were amazing, it was a great trip and we were here on a Viking cruise. Only complaint was there needs to be more toilets, but very happy!

They do their best to go over 100k to achieve the goal. The host is very friendly and will explain how everything works

Wow, what a guide. With her empathy and infectious enthusiasm Linda was able to give us an unforgettable evening with fantastic Northern Lights. Started in the pouring rain in Tromso Linda with her expertise and her sense of the aurora borealis led us to a strong experience deep in Finland. Their enthusiasm for ever-new overwhelming images and colors in the sky was simply worth the tour alone. The driver Adam with his fast and safe ride was also great and the lentil potato soup from Mama Puffin was great. Thank you for this evening and we look forward to the North Cape tour tomorrow. The tour was very well organized, and we were lucky enough to experience a clear night with active northern lights. We especially appreciated that the tour was bilingual. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all kinds of questions about the northern lights. The campfire created a cozy atmosphere, and the soup was delicious. The thermal suits that were provided also worked very well. Toward the end, though, our feet got quite cold despite wearing boots. Therefore, I would recommend bringing extra-thick socks and warm shoes.

Our guide Diego was extremely friendly and made the tour a true experience. Cosy sitting around the campfire, hot soup and drinks and lots of information for us, while we could experience the Northern Lights in all facets almost all the time. Spectacular. He also took beautiful photos of us. I would also like to highlight the very good organisation.

No restrooms avail, challenging for females. Great guides, dinner was great. Would love to do again if bathrooms available
