What To Expect
Van Gogh Museum
You’ve heard about one of the world’s most famous painters, Vincent Van Gogh. But what do you really know about this Dutch artist? This tour will introduce you to the man behind the famous sunflowers and self-portraits that are featured in galleries around the world. See his work “The Potato Eaters” and “The Bedroom” as well as objects from his studio. Visit the world’s largest collection of Van Gogh’s works while learning about his troubled life from his days in Holland to his dramatic ending in France. And yes, we’ll discuss that whole ear incident. Depending on whether the artwork is on loan or being restored, the following pieces of art may include Van Gogh's large collection of self portraits, early and obscure works, objects from his studio, Sunflowers, Yellow House and Wheat Field with Crows.

5.00Anna was very attentive and took her time to explain every aspect of the tour and where we were going and why. It was a very interactive experience and not just listening to someone drone on. She told a complete story about the life of Van Gogh and used the museum as a backdrop. I highly recommend going on this tour to anyone who wants more than the standard look around the place.

He was pleasant, patient, had great stories to share about Van Gogh’s life and artistic journey, which I won’t forget compared to the dull info with a museum self-audio guide. Pedro asked and answered a lot of questions from our small group and showed us cool extras about Van Gogh on his iPad. Spend the extra money and take this tour with Pedro!

5.00Let me say that Paola P. with Babylon Tours was so great during the Van Gogh tour that I rushed to book her for the Rijksmuseum tour the next day! I’ve never appreciated Van Gogh the way I did with Paola’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable guidance. She knows everything about Van Gogh’s life and art but beyond this, she’s weaving the story with social and economic life as well as artistic movements and influences. We had a small group of five and at the end of the tour, all of us were gushing about how fun and enlightening our experience was. If I could rate her six stars, I would!

5.00It lasted just the right amount of time. I wanted to learn more about Van Gough, but did not want a PhD in him. Anita Gosschalk Liemburg, our guide did a wonderful presentation with just enough information. She has extensive experience working for the museum before becoming a guide.
