Arena di Verona
The most significant heritage of Verona is undoubtedly the Arena di Verona, an outstanding Roman theater. Arena di Verona is the second biggest existing Roman theater after the Colosseum in Rome. In ancient Roman times, the arena's capacity was nearly 30,000 people. Its current capacity is 22,000 seats and it is still one of the most prestigious open venues at global level, which hosts multiple major events such as summer seasons of opera, known as “Arena di Verona Festival” or the opening and closing ceremony of 2026 Milan - Cortina Winter Olympics.
Piazza Bra
The tour will continue with the discovery of multiple medieval squares and cobblestones of the historic center such as Piazza Bra surrounded by historic antique buildings, Piazza delle Erbe and the famous via Giuseppe Mazzini that leads to Verona Juliet House.

This was booked thru Tours by Locals "3hr Verona Walking Tour with Certified Guide. Tour 38962. The guide was very knowledgeable but it seemed more like a college course than a tour. We walked by many places but did not enter but two, one was arena which we paid for and skipped the line and another was a private chapel. We walked by Duomo but she didn't bother to ask if we wanted to see until I asked can we go inside and she noted we were on back side and would have to go to front. Prior to this tour we did the Hop On/ Hop Off bus and saw more of Verona during that time than with Valerie. We may not have gotten the knowledge but some of what was said really we cared less. When you go to a city like Verona, you want to experience the inside of the beautiful buildings along with their story. She did great talking about the arena but so much more was missed. Personally, I would take the day and do the bus and get off and explore. We didn't have time to explore from the bus and then get to this tour. This tour costs $564 and wasn't worth it. Please note, maybe we should have explained our expectation prior to arrival but we weren't contacted to do such. A simple form from guide such as do you want to go into churches etc would have been helpful.
