Kochi Castle
Known as "the best castle on the Nankaido (road)," is a symbol of Kochi City. Currently, there are only 12 castles from the pre-Edo period in Japan, but Kochi Castle is one of the most precious castles. The current main tower was rebuilt in August 1747. The greatest feature of Kochi Castle is that the cohesive entirely of the main building group, with the Tenshu, Goten, and Corridor Bridge, all being completely present along with the stone wall and so on. The gazebo on the top floor of the castle tower overlooks Kochi city.
Hirome Ichiba
Large hall with food stalls from around 40 various restaurants, plus souvenir shops and other shops. Perhaps you will enjoy some of the famous “Katsuo Tataki,” which is seared bonito fish. It is recommended that you put salt and sliced garlic on it before tasting. Do enjoy the local foods unique to Kochi.

5.00Our guide, Kazu is a very nice person. She’s very conscientious, full of historical knowledge and well versed in English. To make the tour more engaging and enjoyable, Kazu, has “show and tell” photographs to further illustrate and convey the information. Overall, the tour was worth it! Thank you Kazu.

5.00There are only a few sites to see in Koci but still a very nice place to visit. Great food court and Castle. Our guide Geoff was excellent and spoke better English than us. He made the day for us.

5.00Our Kochi stop was cancelled by the captain of the Diamond Princess due to high winds. We were in communication with our tour guide - Mei. She is excellent and reassured us that we will get our refund due to unforeseen weather conditions.

5.00We had a fabulous day with "Peach" , our guide. Kochi Castle is a must see experience, the Sunday market offered many temptations. And the lunch experience at Hirome market.was a highlight of our trip to Japan. Peach selected the foods and we enjoyed them all: Lightly roasted bonito,Aosa seaweed tempura fried river shrimp And Edamame !!

5.00Our lovely tour guide Kaz has given us an excellent inside into the Japanese culture and the life in Kochi. We actually bombarded her with hundreds of questions and she was more than willing and able to answer all of them. During our tour we have visited Kochi castle (a MUST in Kochi), had an excellent tuna meal Hirome market (please believe me, you do not want to miss that), the very interesting Chikurinji Temple and a lot more. Kaz was very flexible and very open to personalize the tour according to our needs and preferences. A truely awesome and unforgettable experience.

5.00Miya was a wonderful guide in Kochi! She was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around. We saw many sites and enjoyed a wonderful lunch. She was very attentive to what we wanted to do and changed the planned itinerary accordingly. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to have a real authentic taste of Kochi!

5.00We had an excellent day in Kochi with Keiko. We had only one day and wanted to see as much as possible so Keiko took us to the botanical garden, Chikurinji Temple, Kochi Castle and a sake sampling. It was a great mix and with a ride on a local tram, we felt we had as good a day as possible, made extra special and unforgettable by our kind, funny, expert, japanese lady guide Keiko.

5.00In preparation for our tour our lovely tour guide had contacted us well in advance in order to find out what preferences we have and what she could do to make it an unforgettable experience for us and she came back with a very detailled plan especially designed to our wishes. She even agreed to meet directly at the port terminal instead of the bus terminal which normally is foreseen in the standard package. And she even adjusted the plan on very short notice when it turned out, that our ship was significantly delayed due to sea conditions. What a great service. Kaz was truely wonderful.
