Kochi Castle
Known as "the best castle on the Nankaido (road)," is a symbol of Kochi City. Currently, there are only 12 castles from the pre-Edo period in Japan, but Kochi Castle is one of the most precious castles. The current main tower was rebuilt in August 1747. The greatest feature of Kochi Castle is that the cohesive entirely of the main building group, with the Tenshu, Goten, and Corridor Bridge, all being completely present along with the stone wall and so on. The gazebo on the top floor of the castle tower overlooks Kochi city.
Hirome Ichiba
Large hall with food stalls from around 40 various restaurants, plus souvenir shops and other shops. Perhaps you will enjoy some of the famous “Katsuo Tataki,” which is seared bonito fish. It is recommended that you put salt and sliced garlic on it before tasting. Do enjoy the local foods unique to Kochi.

5.00What a fantastic way to explore Kochi! Great communication from our guide Kayko prior to the tour. We crammed as much into the day as possible - visit to the Makino botanical gardens, Chikurin-ji Temple, Kochi Castle, shopping and a sake flight. All entrance fees and day pass for public transportation was included. We chose not to have a sit-down lunch, but that is an option (at your expense). Highly recommend!

5.00This was a great tour while in Kochi. We can't say enough good things about our guide, Kayko, for the day. She made sure we had a perfect day - gardens, castle, local lunch (yum), temple and a little shopping - and a sake tasting! She made transportation so easy and we just seemed to hit the buses without waiting but we know that was her good planning. We saw so much and she is so very kind and a pleasure to visit with. 5.00Kumiko was our guide and she made the whole experience fantastic. Her knowledge was excellent as was her English. Even prior to the trip she kept me informed of what we were going to do and where would meet etc.. the best Viator guided experience we have had. Thank You Kumiko

5.00We came by cruise ship and took an Uber to the meeting point at the bus terminal, from there Peach led us wonderfully to all the places worth seeing and had everything under control and explained well. We were able to see all the top highlights in Kochi and the Sunday market was also particularly interesting. She explained the typical foods to us in more detail and we tried some. It also worked out great in the market thanks to her with the sushi order. Farewell to Peach was a small guest gift, it was an all-round beautiful and unforgettable day.

5.00We had the pleasure of spending a full day exploring the city and its surroundings with Mrs. Peach, and it was truly a wonderful experience. She was punctual, highly professional, and at the same time very friendly, approachable, and full of humor. Her knowledge and competence were evident throughout the day, and she tailored the tour perfectly to our interests and wishes, making the experience both personal and memorable. A particularly thoughtful touch: she even sent us the photos she took during the day, which is a lovely way to remember the experience. Thanks to her, we were able to discover places and details we would never have found on our own. A truly fantastic day — thank you very much, Mrs. Peach!

An outstanding day in Kochi with Rimo!

5.00Our day in Kochi with Rimo was outstanding. She greeted us at the port and we traveled to the stunning Makino botanical garden. She shared with us a history of the garden and we were able to truly enjoy the tranquility of the space by avoiding the crowds. We then walked across to Chikurinji temple, where again our private tour and expert guide paid off as we got beautiful pictures of the pagoda and could walk up to see the temple without other visitors obstructing the views. She then recommended a delicious Japanese restaurant for lunch where she was helpful in recommending dishes that highlighted the local bonito while also being sensitive to dietary restrictions. After lunch we toured Kochi castle and climbed the tower. Throughout the tour, Rimo shared her knowledge and pointed out much that we would have missed without such an experienced guide. She also took many great pictures of my husband and me which we will treasure for years to come. Our last stop was hirome market which we reached after the major lunch crowd and we all had delicious matcha ice cream. I could not have imagined a better day in Kochi. Rimo is a wonderful guide and we enjoyed spending the day with her seeing the beautiful sights of Kochi. This tour was seamless and relaxing while also showcasing the top attractions in Kochi. I would highly recommend taking a tour Rimo!!
