Kochi Castle
Known as "the best castle on the Nankaido (road)," is a symbol of Kochi City. Currently, there are only 12 castles from the pre-Edo period in Japan, but Kochi Castle is one of the most precious castles. The current main tower was rebuilt in August 1747. The greatest feature of Kochi Castle is that the cohesive entirely of the main building group, with the Tenshu, Goten, and Corridor Bridge, all being completely present along with the stone wall and so on. The gazebo on the top floor of the castle tower overlooks Kochi city.
Hirome Ichiba
Large hall with food stalls from around 40 various restaurants, plus souvenir shops and other shops. Perhaps you will enjoy some of the famous “Katsuo Tataki,” which is seared bonito fish. It is recommended that you put salt and sliced garlic on it before tasting. Do enjoy the local foods unique to Kochi.

5.00Seeing a combination of ancient buildings mixed with the more modern shopping centers made for an amazing day. The botanical garden had a lot of rare species, the castle and temples were amazing historical time pieces. I was more excited than I should have been to ring a bell at Chikurinji Temple. The food hall and local markets provided more delicious food than I could eat, including ramen unique to Kochi. Our tour guide Geoffrey knew little facts and tidbits about everything that made the journey unique From architecture information to local food spots, to places to go to pick up random items we wanted for souvenirs. He was the most informed guide I encountered on a 3 week trip spanning 7 different countries and 13 cities. His kindness and sense of humor truly made this trip stand out...... and he spoke better English than I did.

5.00We had an excellent time. Kumiko was very knowledgeable of the history and details about Kochi, the Botanical Garden, Kochi Castle and the other "add-ons." She was full of energy and was so much fun to be with. It was such a delight listening to her stories and song. Highly recommended!!!

5.00Our guide Rie (Peach) was extremely organized and knowledgeable, and all the places we visited were enjoyable to see: the botanical gardens (for me, a highlight of my trip to Japan) and a nearby temple, Hirome market, a great Japanese restaurant, and Kochi Castle (definitely worth visiting if you are OK with climbing lots of steps). Overall an ideal day in Kochi.
Fantastic if I could give 100 stars I would.

5.00We did a tour with Miya . We had an amazing day started at the beach . Then the castle, lunch at a beautiful restaurant and then the botanical Gardens and temple. Out guide was professional, knowledgeable and a beautiful soul.
Rimo, our guide, was simply the BEST!

5.00We couldn’t have asked for a better guide for our visit to Kochi. Rimo was personable, delightful, organized, and very good at sharing history and anecdotes about Kochi. Being a native of Kochi and her expertise in the English language, were a plus for our tour experience. She took us to a fabulous lunch venue in addition to the sites listed in the tour. She always found the best path or trail to a site and was ready with pre-purchased tickets for any type of transportation we needed. Thank you, Rimo, for a delightful visit to your city.

5.00We had a great tour with Michi in Kochi. We visited several sites and she was very informative about what we were visiting. At most sites she had print outs with maps and pictures to help explain what we were seeing. She walked at our pace and talked about some things we would occasionally stop to look at. She asked what we wanted for lunch and called to make reservations so we didn't have to wait. It was a traditional Japanese restaurant and the local dish of seared bonito was excellent. Later in the day we had a choice of a couple of experiences and we chose the Matcha experience. Was a great way to experience a Japanese tradition with Matcha and cooking sweet rice balls. A great day with lots of laughter and memories.

5.00Kay provided us an absolutely fantastic day! She is a warm and informative guide. Her communication skills are second to none. Kay listened to our preferences and adapted our plans accordingly. She escorted us through lunch, explaining all of the different food choices and translating for us to avoid issues. We all felt very taken care of.
