The Denize Bluffs is a location used for numerous scenes in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, one of which was Trollshaws Forest. Visitors can take a tour with Hairy Feet Waitomo, taking in the sites of filming locations including Trollshaw Forest and more .
The tour is fully guided and starts with a short drive through farmland before taking an easy walk around the sites used for filming. The guides pride themselves on making every tour a personalized experience and showing a true sense of what it means to be a New Zealander.

You will visit the 'Trollshaw forest' in the 'Hobbit Trilogy' . You will join a small group tour at the Hairy Feet Farm. It was on the film of Hobbit, and the LOTR drama called 'the power of the Ring" Although the area is better known for the Waitomo Caves and glow worms, the Mangaotaki Valley near Piopio also featured in The Hobbit where it became the location for Staddle Farm and Trollshaw Forest.
Waitomo Glowworm Caves
You will see the beautiful glowworms at the cave in Waitomo. There are thousands of glowworms inside of the cave with the boat ride.

5.00Steve is a fantastic tour guide who tells you all the background stories and history of everything you see along the way. He makes his trip comfortable, fun and with a little luxury too. We loved every minute of it. Highly recommended and we hope to use him again when we return to New Zealand!

5.00I thought a lot about it before I made a reservation because it was my first time hearing about it, but it was such a good trip that it was a waste of time to think about it. An acquaintance introduced me to Jeonju first and introduced me to a satisfactory trip, but it was a really satisfying trip. The city of New Zealand was beautiful for the first time, and I really wanted to come back with my family later. And the other tour of watching growworm was so short that I was wondering how many hours I should go for that short time, and this tour was nice to be able to see kayaks, growworms, and Milky Way. The guide was also very kind, and it was even more meaningful to understand the characteristics of the area when I heard the explanation while going around.
