Rigi Kaltbad
Get off the cable car at Rigi-Kaltbad and switch to Europe‘s first cogwheel railway to complete the trip up to Rigi-Kulm, at an elevation of 6,000 feet (1,800 meters).
Mount Rigi
When you arrive at the top, be wowed by the spectacular views over the Alps and several Swiss mountain lakes. The views are simply incredible, and you'll have approximately three to four hours of free time here to soak it all in. During your free time, go for a hike on one of the well-maintained trails or rent a sled (own expense) for a little wintertime fun. Have lunch (own expense) at the Rigi-Kulm restaurant, or simply relax, enjoying the majestic alpine atmosphere and filling up your camera with one great shot after another.

In the afternoon, take the cogwheel train again back to Rigi-Kaltbad for check-in at your hotel – the three-star Hotel Rigi Kaltbad – and take advantage of your included access to the Rigi Kaltbad Mineral Baths & Spa. Designed by well-known Swiss architect Mario Botta, the spa offers mineral-rich indoor and outdoor pools with relaxing temperatures of 95 °F (35 °C) and fabulous mountain vistas. Enjoy access until 7 pm to additional spa features such as whirlpool, herbal sauna, steam bath and crystal spa bath. Round off your day at the hotel’s SunSet restaurant, where a four-course a la carte dinner of seasonal and regional specialties will be served before returning to your tastefully furnished hotel room.

Breakfast
Mineralbad & Spa Rigi Kaltbad
Begin your day with a rich breakfast buffet and then return to the Mineral Baths & Spa, if you wish, for a late morning dip.
Vitznau
Around noon, take the cogwheel train down to Vitznau, where you’ll board the boat for your one-hour, ultra-scenic cruise on Lake Lucerne to the town of the same name.
Lucerne
When you reach Lucerne, you have free time (depending on the time you descend from Mt Rigi) to explore on your own and have lunch (own expense). See the city’s top sights like Chapel Bridge, Old Town, the town hall and the Jesuit Church. Maybe visit the Swiss Museum of Transport (one of the biggest museums in Switzerland) or the Rosengart Museum, home to works by Picasso and Paul Klee (any entrance fees at own expense). Or just stroll around town, admiring the medieval streets and popping into local shops.
Zurich
At a pre-arranged time, meet your guide and board the coach for the ride back to Zurich where tour ends.

This was not a tour. We were bused to the cable car to Mt Rigi. The tour escort then left us. There was confusion about our booking, and then they realised they had not given us our accomodation vouchers.

We had a wonderful time. The mountain, the people, the food, the wine were all so special. However, we suggest that the tour would be much more enjoyable for people if we were given more detailed instructions in writing as to where to go and what to do in each place. We did not have internet most of each day so no GPS and no instructions did not allow us to see all that we wanted to. For example, when we arrived in Mt Rigi, the instructions we had led us to believe that the hotel was at the summit of Mt Rigi. It is not. Rather than a gondola and train schedule, written instructions would be much more useful. Such as, exit the gondola and walk out onto the plaza, your hotel will be directly in front of you. Drop your luggage there and then head to the train station which is on the opposite side of the plaza to the right as you walk out of the hotel. You can take the train up or down the mountain. If you go up, you will go to the summit where you will find hiking trails, a viewing tower, a restaurant which is cafeteria style with a large deck. Here’s what we recommend….. When you go to dinner at the hotel, the restaurant where your dinner package is included is on level 1 (not the large restaurant on the plaza) and this is also where your breakfast that is included in your package is served. It was also not clear to us if we could go explore the other towns on the train line with our same ticket, like Wiggins for example. The spa and mineral baths were lovely and enjoyable. There is no gym to speak of at the hotel. The second day, same feedback….can you get off the boat and get back on without buying a new ticket? Is ghe restaurant on the boat any good? Our driver from day one told us there were lockers to store our luggage in Lucerne. He may have even told us they were in the train station. However it would be so much more helpful if we had written instructions that said get off the boat, head toward the large archways that lead you to the train station. Enter the station and go to your far left to track 15. Walk about 100 meters past a bakery and the lockers will be be on the right between you and track 15. We also would have appreciated a list of things to see in Lucerne and directions. For example we did not find the lion monument and without GOS we just didn’t get to see it. Can you rent bikes in Lucerne? Is there a tourist office there? If so where? Perhaps the MOST important thing is crystal clear instructions on where to meet the return bus and what to look for (a photo of the bus and the location). The driver from day one said, behind McDonalds. First question, is there only on McDonalds in Lucerne? Second, this Mc Donald’s literally had 3 fronts. There was no clear back. Third, we came in a 10 passenger van and came back on a coach bus and did not know wha we were looking for. How about, the Mc Donald’s is in the building with the Hotel Monomet. It is across the street from the train station. If you walk out the front of the train station where the arches are you will turn left, cross the street (the name of the street would be helpful) and you’ll see the hotel/McDonalds. The large coach bus will be on the street to the left of the building again, name the street. We waited over 39 minutes past departure time for people wandering all over Lucerne looking for this bus. Why not provide a map with all of thes critical items as well as attractions? There was a tiny cartoon map of Lucerne in our packet but nothing was marked on it and it had nothing discernible other than the covered bridge on it. . Just a few hours of preparing a great visitor packet would have made this so much better. You must assume that visitors will not have internet access to look things up.

Definitely worth the money. Make sure you travel light as you cant check in until 15:00. Although you can leave your luggage in an unsecure room until then which isn't covered by security. I only had a back pack so i just carried this with me until check in. From arrival, at the hotel from a aerial car you get to stunning veiws from the hotel and from here upto mount Rigi Klum by cogwheel train you see phenomenal veiws. The hotel included a stunning 4 course dinner, access to the spa which is out of this world, and breakfast also included. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Fantatsic excursion and price to go with it.

So this was a special trip for us since I asked my girlfriend to marry me. During the two weeks trip to Europe, we decided to do about 4 tours. 3 from Viator and 1 direct. This one was the worst out of all. I am not kidding. We regret paying for this tour since it was basically a transport to/from. Let's start from beginning, checking in took a while since they are also selling the same tour for walk up which meant that things were rushed. When we got on the small van, we did not have room for our small duffel bag since we were doing overnight while the rest of the 6-7 passengers were doing the day only. I had to ask the driver to see if he had storage in the back or by the passenger seat foot area he was not a happy camper to help us. Once on the road, the driver/tour guide barely spoke English. He would describe the area we drove through in french for 8-10 mins and say one line in English. On top of that, there was a family who had their own translator so that person was than translating French to another language for them. Imagine hearing two different languages for 85 mins. When we got to a stop, the driver said to hold while he went got all our tickets. Came back, gave the tickets and said read the paper instructions you got at check in for rest of schedule. It will tell you what time to take what and left. This is very bad since all of us were confused as to what we had to do. When I asked about our return and where to go, he said its in the paper. You could tell he had no interest. We finally made our own way to the top and checked in to hotel. Turns out hotel dislikes guests that are part of a tour. We were giving a room with twin beds and said that's all they can extend since we didn't book directly. I was even willing to pay out of pocket for a larger bed. Furthermore, I asked about dinner and breakfast that were included in our tour and were told contact the tour company. That didn't help. Finally found someone local who just happened to be there and who explained that the hotel/restaurant will not care for your service since you are not paying them directly. Instead he helped us out with pointers and guided us on what to do. Just shocking. No worries, we tried hard to not let this bother us. But twin bed on a romantic getaway is a nightmare. When the dinner time came, they had assigned seating. Guess what, a table in the back corner of the restaurant with two sides to the walls and no view of the window/mountain. When we asked for a different table, we got the answer, you cannot change since you booked via tour. Lovely : At this point we tried our best to make the best of it. Asking for a water refill was even a nightmare because you could tell the staff were more focused with real paying customers. We called it a night and went to bed after dinner. Next day, we got up and were excited to check out of this nightmare of a hotel. Grab a quick bite for breakfast and made our way to the top sine it was snowed in the night before. When we got to the top, the stairs were closed since it was not safe according to the crew that worked the area. No worries. Took about 3-4 photos and got ready for the boat ride to next stop. From here we were on our own since the paper just had time slot to follow and that's it. The best part of this trip was what we did on our own. We had more flexibility and options than being locked in. The day was over so we followed the directions for pick up and headed there. We saw the bus for the company and hopped on showed our ticket for the return to the driver. While we waited for about 15 mins the bus was not leaving. I got curious and went down to task a tour guide that was there. She said they were waiting on a couple who had an overnight stay. I said thats us and showed the ticket again. She was so upset that we did not check in. I told her that we had shown this to the driver. She said driver is not ours and you should be on the other bus since thats what the paper said. I was like paper doesn't say anything except to look for a bus with your logo and pickup location. I apologized and tried to explain we were doing what we thought was correct. No apologies from the other side instead a mean look. They told the other bus we were here and we left. At this point, we were just happy to be done with this tour and get back to our romantic trip. Never again I would be interested in booking a tour that deals with this third party booking company.

This is an amazing experience, definitely do this! Views, nature, mineral baths and city of Lucerne are 10 out of 10! Good for people of any age. You have exactly enough time for everything.
Note! In mountains is colder then in the city, I was in October, temperature was around 0 degrees celsious, so don't forget a warm cloth.
