After breakfast at 8:30 am our guides will greet you at the hotel where you are staying. After that the tour group will set off into the jungle forroughly a6to 7 hour trek. During the trip, if we are lucky, we may see Orangutans, Thomas leaf monkey, Gibbons, or long-tailed Macaque. During the day we will break for lunch and eat tropical fruits, following by a short walk to our campsite location. Thereyou can do activities like bathing in the river and behold the beauty of the natural landscape which will surround you. Our team will provide some complementary tea, coffee and snacks. At the end of the day our teamwill prepare a delicious dinner which can vary but may include rice, vegetables, chicken, chili sauce, tempeh and more.After dinner we can choose to play a fun interactive group game before going to bed for a well needed rest.

After breakfast provided by Team Bukit Lawang Planet we will be walking into the jungle. During the journey we will learn about the plants of theforests that can be used as herbal medicine. If we are lucky we may see some interesting animals such as; the Endangered Orangutan, White-hundred gibbon, snakes, monkeys, monitor lizards, and many other exotic wildlife unique tothe jungle.Thejungle trek is typically a 5-6 hour walk. During the day our team will prepare a lunch that includes locally sourced fresh fruit. After Lunch we will begin our trek to return to Bukit Lawang. Here we have two options; to return on foot, or,with a traditional tube raft which we canridedown the river for an additional fee. You may choose either to walk back to bukit lawang or travel back with tube rafting down the river. 5.00Yoga and bambang were the best! Great guides and great trip. Well arranged and very good food. With only a two day trip we were able to see many orangutan (8) and even the more rare white and black gibbons! We also encountered families of long-tailed macaques, pig-tailed macaques, and Thomas’s leaf monkeys. With the Sumatran peacock-pheasant, an otter, and a monitor lizard added to the list, the trip couldn’t have been more complete! Thank you!

5.00We had a great time with Yoga and Bambang. Lots of food, good explanations for every animal/insect and they were making sure we were okay at all times. Would definetely recommend :) Also: LOVED the so called ‘jungle taxi’. Once in a lifetime experience - terimah kasih!!

5.00I had an amazing experience!! Far from the great Guesthouse house in the center, Sumatra Orang Outan Trek is a great place, very family friendly. The rooms are to fall on the floor, the restaurant food is excellent. Everyone here welcomes you with open arms and will make your every desire achievable. I booked the day before for the next day, and a private driver picked me up directly from my hotel in Medan for Bukit Lawang. Godex was a wonderful encounter, and even though he didn’t speak English, we spent the ride laughing. He taught me my first words in Indonesian and for the rest, Google translation did the trick. I did the 2d and one night trek with Amed and Aga as guide. They sounded at little care with us and we were lucky enough to see many Orang Outans, male and female. After the trek I was originally supposed to leave but I felt so good here that I decided to extend my stay. I finally stayed five nights. Good to know, every Saturday there is an evening in the center of Bukit Lawang. Once again everyone was super welcoming, and really interested in you. I also enjoyed a massage after the trek, the full one hour massage was welcome after the trek! My time here will be forever etched in my memory.

5.00The whole team is a dream. Only good mood is spread, singing and dancing. Highly recommended is the jungle tour with an overnight stay in the forest. Getting so close to so many monkey species is incredibly beautiful and an indescribable feeling. Thanks again to everyone. Terima kasih Ahmed, the best guide! 5.00Great all round experience. Upon arrival at guesthouse in the evening warmly received by staff, good explanations and extensive possibility to order dinner. Morning after it was time for the two-day jungle trekking with guide Erwin and help guide Adam. Together with 1 other tourist (always group of min 3 to max 6 people) we started a tough but very fun jungle trek with 1 night in the middle of the jungle. Pace (with regular breath and drinking breaks) and explanations were super, furthermore we were also very well provided with food and drink: enough fruit, cookies, nasi goreng, coffee, tea, pancakes,... We also saw many different monkeys, birds and ofcourse some orangutans. Great to be able to experience. Sleeping in the jungle is also an adventure but indispensable for the complete experience. On the way back, the experience was completed with a beautiful rafting tour across a river through the jungle. We highly recommend this total experience with Sumatra Orangutan Treks to anyone who is up for a unique and unforgettable trip.
