  We were originally placed on a hybrid tour which was not what we expected. After driving around for an hour we were able to get on a regular hop on hop off bus. Since losing so much time, we were unable to see all the stops we were planning to see.

• Castle is beautiful

  We had a fun day. We spent almost 2 hours at the castle and got off at the Bay Maria for lunch at the little cafe. We were not interested in the other stops. They seemed odd choices for us but we really enjoyed touring the city in this manner.

• If you're coming from cruise ship, take it from Stop No 7 right in front of the terminal

  Very good way to see Victoria. The bus drove fairly slowly so gives plenty of time to take in the sights and good narration of the sights. We came in on a cruise ship and were initially confused about where to catch the bus as one google search incorrectly said the stop was near the interactive sundial (a short walk from the cruise terminal) but they actually use the standard bus stop directly in front of the terminal. My thoughts were this could perhaps be better signed so people getting off cruise ships can more easily see this. I also noticed a few other passengers thought they had to go into town to catch the bus from Stop No 1 but you can save time just hopping on near the cruise terminal (Stop No 7).

  We got off the cruise ship and started walking towards the main road and one of the pedicab guys told me we were going the wrong way and sent us over to empty busses. We finally found someone to direct us to the road where we missed the hop on by 1 minute. Waited 50 minutes for the next one and then found out it was a 25 minute walk to get our tickets. All very confusing. We enjoyed the commentary which was professionally done. When we got to the Empress Hotel we redeemed our voucher and waited until the tour continued 30 minutes later. We got off at Fishermen's Wharf and had a late lunch before returning to the bus stop and waited for the next bus. Had we known it was a 10 minute walk to the cruise ship dock......

• Doesn't follow their own schedule

  It was great while we were on the bus, interesting facts, etc. But we waiting over 30 min past the time the bus was supposed to arrive at one stop, and over 45 min at another stop. What's the point of having a schedule of when the bus will be at a certain stop if it's not following the schedule?! We paid for the whole hop on/hop off ride but were only able to use it once. Had to get an Uber back to where we needed to be. Very disappointing and waste of money.

• More money for transportation into city

  If you come in on a cruise ship, you have to find your own way into town and find the Empress Hotel to exchange your Vistor purcháse for a boarding pass. Not being familiar with any surroundings, it took a little bit of time to figure out where the Empress Hotel was. So transportation into the city will cost you more money.

  Driver not very helpful and communicative. Tour was fine to see Victoria. Very beautiful city to visit.

  The driver and narrator, Brian was absolutely wonderful! The information he provided about Victoria was very informative!

  It’s a good thing to do to look at the city and then decide where you want to go and on your second round jump off where you want to explore

  We took the tour in Victoria on a Wednesday afternoon after our cruise ship arrived. While the overall tour route was very nice and gave us a good overview of the city sights we were disappointed that there were only two buses running and they were 1 hour apart so if we got off at any spot we would have to wait an hour to catch the next bus. Another problem was the buses were only running until 6pm that evening and by the time we finished our initial 1 1/2 hour round trip it was 3pm. It’s a 24 hour hop on hop off bus so we thought we could use it later into the evening. Also it didn’t bring us near the Butchart Gardens and that was one if the main places we wanted to see so we had to get transportation to visit there. If you’re considering booking this I would check with the tour operator on these details.
