After breakfast, it's time to kick off the day with one of Kangaroo Island's most iconic wildlife encounters. At Seal Bay, join a guided 45-minute tour with National Parks & Wildlife rangers and get up close with Australia's third-largest colony of endangered sea lions— around 800 call this place home. Wander the boardwalk through coastal dunes, spotting sea lions snoozing in the sun, sprawled across the beach, or even lying right across the path. Learn about the species' fight for survival and the conservation efforts helping to protect them.
Flinders Chase National Park
Next up: an island icon. We head west to Flinders Chase National Park, a wild wonderland of rugged cliffs, native bush, and jaw-dropping rock formations. Stroll the boardwalk at Admirals Arch, keeping an eye out for New Zealand fur seals lounging below. Then prepare to be wowed by the legendary Remarkable Rocks—500 million years in the making and as photogenic as they come

After a full day, head back towards camp to reflect and relax over dinner before rolling out your swag and counting shooting stars. Today, we drive approximately 340 km.

Cape Willoughby Lighthouse
Kick off the final day with a refreshing morning bush walk near camp before packing up and hitting the road. First stop is Cape Willoughby, home to South Australia's first lighthouse. Perched above dramatic cliffs, it offers sweeping views and stories from Kangaroo Island's rich maritime past.
Kangaroo Island
Next up is Pennington Bay, where powerful swells crash against the southern coastline. From here, tackle the 500 steps up to Prospect Hill, one of the island's highest vantage points. The panoramic views are absolutely worth the effort.
Kangaroo Island
Afterwards, at Kingscote Jetty, there's time for a refreshing swim if you're keen before we head inland to Duck Lagoon. A peaceful spot surrounded by bushland and known for its laid-back vibe and koala sightings.
Stokes Bay
By lunchtime, we roll into Stokes Bay, a local favourite with a hidden rock tunnel leading to a seriously stunning beach. Enjoy a picnic lunch and take some time to unwind on the sand.
Emu Bay
Before we wrap, we make one last stop at Emu Bay, voted Australia's best beach! With its long stretch of white sand and clear blue water, it's the perfect spot for a stroll, a quick dip, and a meaningful beach clean-up to help keep this pristine coastline wild and beautiful.
Kangaroo Island
After an unforgettable few days, we arrive back in Penneshaw to catch the 5:30 pm ferry to Cape Jervis. From there, your bus connection will have you back in Adelaide by around 9:00 pm. A little salty, a lot inspired, and glowing from three days of island adventure.

I had a great time on my 3 day kangaroo island tour. Chris was a great and friendly guide. We went to nice places, such as stokes Bay and emu Bay. Camping was fun and the equipment was clean. I would reccomend to a friend

A great way to explore this beautiful island. Steve was a great guide and took us to the perfect places to spot koalas, kangaroos and wallabies, as well as cooking up delicious dinners and even a birthday cake for one member of the group. As well as all the incredible wildlife, I loved the beautiful beaches and amazing rock formations. The swags were surprisingly comfortable and waking in the middle of the night to the stunning star-filled night sky was a trip highlight. I’d definitely recommend this brilliant trip - we left with so many wonderful memories.

An incredible experience on Kangaroo Island. Choosing the 3-day tour was absolutely the right decision – it allows you to truly immerse yourself in the island rather than rushing through highlights on a one-day trip. The pace was perfect, and everything was exceptionally well organised from start to finish. One of the absolute highlights was spending the night in a swag, surrounded by wallabies and sleeping under a breathtaking star-filled sky. Falling asleep to the sounds of nature and waking up in the middle of untouched wilderness was a truly unique and grounding experience – something you simply don’t get on a standard tour. A special thanks to Steve for his outstanding knowledge and for taking us to so many incredible places that truly showcased the diversity and beauty of Kangaroo Island. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Kangaroo Island properly.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this tour and it certainly was not the '"adventure tour" advertised. The tour guide was not interested resulting in a poor atmosphere, the food was exceptionally basic and the campsite was not clean. Overall, experience was not what I would expect for the price.

A really wonderful experience! Easy going and entertaining staff, a great way to experience true Aussie flare. Best for Aussie slang quiz night! Crowd size (10) was just right for everyone to get a chance to clean the dishes and do meal prep. Doing this tour one ones own would have been much more expensive due to admission fees and ferry costs. Could have been three more days, there was so much to see and do.

Amazing trip to Kangaroo Island. Glad I went for the 3 day tour as you really get more out of your time rather than rushing on a one day trip. Everything was so well organised. Thanks to Chris especially for sharing all your knowledge and information with us as well as the laughs. Thanks to Zoe as well for all the help back at the camp which definitely makes everything a lot easier. Was really impressed by the itinerary, didnt feel too rushed, 10 people on the tour which was a great size, loved camping under the stars, swimming in the sea and stopping at all the points possible to take photos. Seal bay is a definite highlight of all my travels so far. Thanks, would definitely recommend!

Our three‑day Kangaroo Island tour with Untamed Escapes was extremely disappointing. I know the company will respond with their "regenerative tourism practices" and frame the rest as “personal experience,” but consumers should be aware: the situation was so poor that 9 of the 13 participants chose to leave the island early. The guide provided almost no itinerary explanation or commentary about the island and often responded to questions with sarcasm. He also tried to delegate excessive cooking and cleaning tasks to guests, which felt inappropriate for a paid tour. Most concerning were his offensive jokes, including comments about Nazi Germany and Taiwan, which made several people uncomfortable. Cleanliness and hygiene were major issues. Food was handled without proper hygiene, expired items were found in the fridge, and meal quality was very poor. The bus and campsite were extremely dirty, with old food, rubbish, and rotting scraps left around. We fully expected a rustic swag‑camping experience, but the lack of professionalism, hygiene, and basic care fell far below what any traveller should reasonably expect for their vacations. What should have been a once‑in‑a‑lifetime trip became a deeply disappointing experience

We have been traveling with tour leader Steve on this trip. There were 12 guests in total and Steve has guided everyone excellently. The trip was well cared for, good accommodation, sleeping in swags and good healthy and good food prepared by Steve. The excursions were also excellent with good explanations, from plants and animals to history.
