Pilatus Luzern

Meet your guide and the rest of the group and take a train ride to Alpnachstad. After going up to the Pilatus middle station on the world’s steepest cogwheel train, we will hike to the Pilatus summit. From there we descend in a gondola to Kriens. Total hiking time: 2.5 – 3 hours Distance: 3.7 km / 2.3 mi Ascent: 710 m / 2,330 ft Descent: 5 m / 20 ft

Sustenpass

Today we will take the train and head towards the mountains. After a bus ride we will hike to Sewen Hut, a Swiss Alpine Club Hut. Total hiking time: 3.5 – 4 hours Distance: 7.6 km / 4.7 mi Ascent: 640 m / 2,100 ft Descent: 940 m / 3,080 ft

Mount Rigi

After a train ride to Weggis we will partially follow the Mark Twain path up to Rigi Kaltbad (described in Mark Twains book “A Tramp abroad”). From Rigi Kaltbad a train will take us up to the Rigi Kulm summit and later down the mountain. Total hiking time: 3 - 3.5 hours Distance: 7 km / 4.3 mi Ascent: 1,000 m / 3,280 ft Descent: 10 m / 30 ft
