Four days, exploring four iconic locations (Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta and Tjoritja West MacDonnell Ranges) all wrapped up in one tour. This small group adventure encompasses the very best the Red Centre has to offer. There is a very good reason why Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 1987, the international community recognized the park's spectacular geological formations, rare plants, and exceptional natural beauty. A few of the highlights include exploring Ormiston Gorge, Ochre Pits and Ellery Creek Big Hole, hiking through the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge, and exploring Mutitjulu Waterhole, Kuniya Piti, and Kantju Gorge.
We provide two different sleeping options at our permanent campsites, with twin share safari tents, or you can try out a traditional swag experience. (canvas-covered bedroll)
This tour starts and finishes in Alice Springs only, please advise us of your accommodation at the time of booking.

Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
A minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. Therefore a medium/high level of fitness is required and a doctor's certificate is required for people over 75 years (30 days prior to travel).
The tour operator must be notified of any known medical conditions at the time of booking. This is a very physical tour and requires a moderate level of fitness and mobility.
Children aged between 8 to 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian at all times. Not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under, due to safety requirements and the level of fitness required to complete the walk.
Please advise at time of booking whether you require a hire of a sleeping bag?
Guests are asked to participate in the preparation of meals, clean up and vehicle unpacking/loading, so everyone can relax together after a long day of touring. It’s also a great way to get to know and connect with your fellow travellers.

Your adventure begins early as we depart from Alice Springs and head towards Uluru. Along the way, we’ll stop at the Mt Connor lookout (often mistaken for Uluru) to take in the views of this impressive red mountain, followed by a quick stop at Curtin Springs. After lunch, arrivals from Yulara Resort, Ayers Rock Campground, or Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ) will join the rest of the group. The afternoon brings a visit to the Red Centre’s Aboriginal Interpretive Cultural Centre where we dive into the rich cultural, ecological, and geological wonders of the national park. As anticipation builds, we get up close and personal with the mighty Uluru, uncovering its sacred rock art, family caves, and ancient stories on a base walk. Don’t miss the mesmerising Mutitjulu Waterhole or Kantju Gorge with its secret waterfall and the world’s oldest pantry. Finish the day with a knockout sunset and a dinner that’ll fuel those “wow” moments you’re about to have with your fellow adventurers.

Kata Tjuta - The Olgas
Rise and shine for an early brekkie and a dazzling sunrise over Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Just when you thought Uluru was jaw-dropping, in struts the majestic Kata Tjuta. We’ll hike the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge and be in awe of these massive, otherworldly rock formations. Next stop? Kings Canyon! Tonight, we’re camping at a super-exclusive safari spot situated on the lands of the traditional Wanmarra community, one of the most remote places on earth (you’re closer to the International Space Station than the nearest McDonalds). Round off the day with a campfire feast and outback stargazing – you’ve never seen a sky like this.

We head off early to explore the mighty Kings Canyon (Watarrka) venturing into the ancient landscape and sacred grounds of the Ulpanyali and Lilla people. Get your water bottle and hiking boots ready because Kings Canyon is calling! With its towering cliffs, sandstone chasms, and breathtaking views, this ancient canyon is the ultimate hiker’s dream. Conditions permitting, we’ll set off on foot to explore the canyon, including the iconic rim walk, on the most seasonally suitable section of the trail. Rest up in the bus as we head back up north, travelling off-the-beaten track via the Mereenie Loop Tourist Drive or Ernest Giles Road and heading out towards the West MacDonnell Ranges for an evening of stargazing at our private bush camp located near Mount Sonder.

Tjoritja/West MacDonnell National Park
Our West MacDonnell National Park exploration unfolds amidst the towering red walls of Ormiston Gorge. Fuel up with some breakfast surrounded by awe-inspiring natural wonder, and appreciate the geological forces that sculpted this landscape. Keep your eyes peeled for native wildlife emerging with the rising sun. Next, we cool off with a refreshing dip in the Ellery Creek Bighole (Udepata in Arrernte) and dramatic cliffs and sandy Ellery Creek, this permanent waterhole offers a welcome respite in the arid outback. Continuing our journey, we arrive at Standley Chasm (Angkerle Atwatye). This dramatic 3-meter-wide, 80-meter-high gorge provides a stunning backdrop for our exploration. Our final stop is Simpsons Gap, another remarkable feature of the Tjoritja West MacDonnells. This significant site boasts a permanent waterhole attracting diverse wildlife and holds cultural significance as the intersection of several Aboriginal dreaming trails. We return to Alice Springs around 18:00pm.

5.00Unforgettable – you have to ask in the office if you can do the tour with Libbi, she makes the Central Australia experience perfect! We spent 3 nights and 4 incredible days touring through Central Australia with our guides Libbi and Femke, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We explored Uluru and many other breathtaking places, enjoyed amazing sunsets and sunrises, went on beautiful hikes, and visited stunning lookout points. The modern tents were very comfortable and the infrastructure was excellent, making the whole trip both adventurous and relaxing. A very special mention goes to Libbi — you can immediately tell that she has been working here for many years. She had an answer to every single question and shared so much interesting knowledge about the region, culture, and nature. Her passion for her job really shines through, and you can see how much she truly loves what she does. Femke was also outstanding and always brought such great energy to the group. The food was delicious, varied, and freshly prepared, which made the experience even better after long days of exploring. Another big thank you to the manager Jiri, who made the trip extra special by surprising my partner on his birthday with wine and cake — such a thoughtful and memorable gesture! Everything was perfectly organised, the atmosphere was fantastic, and we made memories that will stay with us forever. 5.00We went on the 4 days tour with Maya and Daragh and it was honestly such a cool experience! First of all, both of them always made sure everybody was feeling good and was happy at all times. Then the food they made for us was absolutely delicious. And then, of course, the tour itself was the perfect mixture between hiking, getting to know the culture, bus rides as well as just time in the camp. Everything was planned out perfectly. My favorites were the sunset in front of uluru and the kings canyon walk- so fun!! I can absolutely recommend it especially with those two guides😌 Their knowledge about the nature we were in was also absolutely insane!!

5.00It was a nice experience. My friend and I really enjoyed the whole trip. Adrian our guide was nice and motivated and took great care of us. The food was delicious and always enough for our small group. We really liked that the trip was perfectly planned and we don’t have anything to complain. The places and camps we visited were amazing.

5.00Timely pickup from a very well positioned great guide - Adrian. We had seen the Ulura near the distance (sunset and rise). We got up every morning at 04.30 to do the hikes (2-3 hours) still in pleasant temperatures. There was always enough time to refresh yourself in shops. But we had always been offered water and snacks. The tents with the mattresses were clean and comfortable. The highlight for us was the resort in Kings Canyon with the campfire and an unforgettable starry night.
A wonderful immersive experience of outback Australia - highly recommended.

5.00We had an excellent experience on the tour led by Matt (Donk) & Johnny (trainee guide). The tour was very well paced (this is important given the distances and heat!), safe and very informative. We learned a lot and felt like we had an immersive experience of the outback over the duration of the tour. Donk was an excellent tour leader and Johnny will be an erudite and great tour leader when he is accredited.

5.00CJ and Libbi were absolutely outstanding guides throughout my four-day Ref Centre tour. From start to finish, they were incredibly patient, enthusiastic, and impressively knowledgeable. No question was ever too much, and they explained everything with clarity and genuine passion. Their constant smiles, positive energy, and tireless work ethic made the experience not only educational but truly enjoyable. You could tell they genuinely cared about the group and about making the tour the best it could possibly be. I couldn’t have asked for better guides—CJ and Libbi went above and beyond in every way. The food was amazing too!

5.00Make no mistake, touring Australia's Red Center in January is a challenging, tough environment. It's hot, requiring early morning hiking through harsh terrain. The outdoor accommodations are remote. Given all that the tour was amazing and it all centered around our tour guide, Mikki. Mikki was absolutely outstanding. Her positive attitude and energy kept us going when the environment challenged us. Mikki would provide insights and stories of Australian history, geological facts, and aboriginal culture. Mikki set the tone everyday at every venue that was positive and inspiring. Thank you Mikki! An amazing tour.

5.00If you really want to know more about the culture and nature in the outback then you are in the right place with this tour! Plenty to eat, great tents and a schedule adapted to the weather! Our guide CJ was really beyond expectations and made the tour extremely good for us. It always remains to be seen what a guide is like and what you can expect from it, but her infectious enthusiasm and real passion for her work was what made the tour truly special. The outback is of course beautiful but for us this experience was unforgettable. The guide really knew everything, was with us for 3 days and you could always contact her. She even organized games on the bus to make the sometimes long rides more enjoyable. She let us sleep in the bus to recover from the early morning and the long walks (while she drove us cheerfully to the next destination with even less sleep and the same walks) how she managed that? Like I said before; real passion for her profession. I used to joke that if she'd told me she'd be Steve Irwin's daughter, I would have believed it. And I think that is the best experience you can have in the outback!! Other guides along the way even said that she might be the best guide of the outback and that we were lucky! So CJ thank you so much and good luck to you!! Sorry for the long review but certainly did not want to sell this short!
