Tana Toraja which lies in South Sulawesi known for its unique culture of varied funeral rituals, Tongkonan houses, ancient menhirs and Toraja hand weaving. You’ll be picked up from your hotel/airport in Makassar at 8 AM. Visit Kete Kesu, Marante and Pallawa Village to get a glimpse of Tongkonan houses - a traditional house of Toraja people. For sure you will visit the famous burial sites such as stone funeral burial, hanging graves, tree burials, burial cliffs, and cave burials. The most picturesque burials located in Lemo, Londa, Sangalla and Suaya. The places where you can see effigies of the dead called Tau Tau and the royal family tombs. Possibly witness a festive funeral in your private 4 days excursion.

Tana Toraja
By bus/minivan to Tana Toraja, for 8-9 hours approximately, through several urban districts with natural views and typical Buginese-Makassarnese traditional houses which it's built on pole.
Pare-Pare
Stop at Pare-Pare for lunch. After lunch, the journey continues and a photo stop at "Ainun Habibie's True Love Monument".
Coffee break in the mountains of Bambapuang "The Erotic Mountain".
Rantepao
In the afternoon/ by evening , arrive in Rantepao, the capital of North Toraja and check in at the hotel to stay and having dinner at a local restaurant. Free time
Day 2 (Tana Toraja)

Suaya
The Royal Tomb of Sangalla at Suaya, Tana Toraja.
Tampang Allo
Visiting Tampang Allo and having lunch at the local restaurant.
Kete Kesu Village
After having lunch, visit KETE KESU Village, one of the villages that supported by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage. Here, you could see the typical of Toraja House which is called "TONGKONAN".
Rantepao
After that, going to Rantepao for shopping at the one Gallery, dinner at local restaurant, back to the hotel, and having free time
Day 3 (Tana Toraja)

The traditions of funeral ceremonies, different houses, friendly people, a great local guide who speaks English well and told us all about The meanings of symbols, their belief, traditions, a driver who dores his best to communicate in English and was able to drive in these mountain roads. The Hotel we stayed has a incredible garden but The management needs to renovate rooms n spa.
Because there's a lot of history like the Ra'ba Biang epidemic, the early forming of Tongkonan, and warfare, these four must be fought

Tongkonan Mebali has such a dramatic and tragic history, one of which is that in 1918 a deadly disease called "Ra'ba Biang" spread in Tana Toraja causing dozens of deaths daily, one of which in Tongkonan Mebali Marinding. The endless deaths made surviving residents keep or lay the bodies of their relatives or relatives in the cliffs or goa because there was no place to be buried, which is why there are still hundreds of skull bones at some point around this Mebali Tongkonan.

5.00This was a dream come true. Excllent guide and not only attendance of a funeral, also a village wedding! The scenery is spectacular and Torana Valley is an intense cultural experience. Highly recommend it!
