Wake up at the early morning and have a breakfast. We will drive to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall in 2 hours. Meet the local guide and goes together to one of the most visited Waterfall in Indonesia. Around 2-3 hours after enjoying the Waterfall, we will go to the next Hotel in Bromo Area. Once reach the Hotel you will have some time to spare at your convenience by strolling around the hotel, the nearby farming area, witnessing the daily activities of the Tenggerese people, or just relaxing at the hotel.

Get ready to be picked up at 3.00 am by a 4 WD-vehicle to experience the bumpy road to reach Mt. Penanjakan 1 which is the best spot to enjoy the breathtaking scene of Bromo sunrise. Driving down the hill, you will pass the vast sea of sand, resulting from the eruption of Mt. Bromo, in a 30 minute-easy track all the way to the peak. From the crater rim, you can see the active Bromo crater, caldera and the mountainous views of Mt. Batok and the highest mount in Java Island, Mt. Semeru. Also, you can find the Hindu temple reflecting the Majapahit history. If you are lucky, you will be able to witness the Yadnya Kasada ceremony, a Tenggerese festival held every 14th of the Kasada month, to honor Sang Hyang Widhi the Almighty God, Roro Anteng the daughter of King Majapahit and Joko Seger the son of Brahmana. After breakfast, you will head to Mount Ijen Area in Banyuwangi/Bondowoso. Here, you will stay for a night in a hotel.

Get ready at early morning because you will be picked up at 11.30 P.M from your hotel. We will start the trip by driving you to Paltuding. Afterwards we will begin an hour trek to Ijen Crater. Here, you can get the chance to witness the dazzling blue lava-like rivers of light known as the Blue Fire phenomenon. Next, we will explore the crater area seeing panoramic view of Mount Ijen turquoise. At 8 A.M, we will return Surabaya / Malang or Ketapang port.

5.00We booked this trip with Melati as a German-speaking guide, without having informed myself in detail beforehand about what to expect. But these days exceeded all my expectations. Four packed days with not much sleep and such extraordinary, even emotional impressions of the magnificent landscape. Especially Bromo and Ijen were almost cloudless. And the wonderful sense of community with Melati and all the drivers - almost like a family. Everything was perfectly organized and very open to personal topics - it couldn't have been better. Thank you, Melati, and everyone from the team who made this possible. The memory will always remain.

5.00We were on an adventure trip with Melati, our amazing tour guide (5*). What fun we had, how wonderfully everything was organized. Everything went like clockwork. Melati was always by our side. Always striving to provide us with the best. And all of this in German. Incredible journey: Colorful village, descent to the foot of Tumpak Sewu waterfall, Sunrise Bromo, hike to Bromo crater, ascent at night to Ijen and Sunrise. All of this was incredibly impressive, exciting, a beautiful adventure. Dearest Melati, without you it would not have been even half as beautiful. Thank you for allowing us to get to know you

5.00We chose Cheap Bromo as we had the most clear communications prior to the tour. Our guide Baroni is friendly, good spirited and shares a wealth of information about his beautiful country. He made sure we are well taken care of, and catered to our requests. We wanted to try some local food, so he took us to this authentic Bakso place in Malang. We also made a quick shopping stop to help my friend find kopi jahe to take home. Bromo sunrise was perfect and one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. As Ijen blue fire was not available as of May 2026, we simply slept in and visited Ijen without the crowds. Baroni is keen on photography, and we got all the best front row photo spots at Tumpak Sewu and King Kong Hill. Also props to our driver, Kosmos, for getting us to places so efficiently! We will miss this experience.

5.00Great servis for first time visitors. Very helpful and kind people all around. Paid for good view and got alot of history of Java for free from our guide. Schedule is tight but worth it, get ready for early alarm other than that you don't have to do much but enjoy the trip.

5.00We had one of the most awesome experiences ever our tour guide Ubay was excellent. The tour was quite a challenge for my age but came through without scratches. First time in Indonesia was memorable the people was so warm and friendly, the food was great and the scenery was also breathtakingly beautiful.

5.00We were a family of 5 (3 adult children with elderly parents) and did the 4 day 3 night tour in April and had the most magical and unforgettable experience. Even my parents who are in their 60s were able to complete the hikes with the help of our guides and also the 'Lamborghinis' on the Mount Ijen trek. Ubay our guide was faultless and went above and beyond for us every day. He helped my elderly mother throughout the hikes and genuinely cared for all of our needs. Not only was he highly knowledgeable but he truly cared for all of us, took loads of great photos and felt like a 6th member of the family. He was flexible with our plans and helped us enjoy each moment. We are really appreciative of what he did for us. The vehicle was massive and made the long rides much easier, driven by our driver (Judin) who was kind and happy throughout. All the accommodation was comfortable and met our needs. We highly recommend visiting East Java with CheapBromo!
