Join a hands-on cooking experience inside a real Yucatán kitchen in Mérida and step into the local way of eating. I would highly recommend this tour! We had a greet time during the cooking class with the lovely host Denise. She gives you a lot of information about the different products and the Yucatan dishes. We tried different products besides the dishes we made like fruit and local beer. It was perfect!

I had a wonderful personalized experience with Denise! She allowed us to choose how involved we wanted to be (sit back and enjoy or getting our hands dirty) and the food came out spectacular. I especially enjoyed that we got to use cookware and utensils found in a typical kitchen. The food was very tasty and it ended up being a full balanced meal including appetizers, soup, entree, and dessert. She is clearly a very experienced chef and was open to discussing other food topics including restaurant suggestions, ingredient availability and sourcing, cooking techniques, and she even took the time to teach us how to cut an onion (per my request!). Of course, the best part was getting to sit down together to eat our creations and chat. I highly recommend this experience and this chef!

Denise was an amazing host chef and teacher. Was a great cultural learning experience and probably the best yucateca food I had while I have been here. She makes cooking straightforward and I look forward to making these on my own in the future

Cooking with Denise was a lot of fun. I learned how to make regional food in a way that I can try when I’m home, and it wasn’t stressful at all. The food was fantastic and by the time we left it was like visiting with a friend.
