According to the Ramayana, Hakgala is believed to be one of the places connected to Sita Devi’s captivity during her stay in Lanka. The name Hakgala is derived from “Yaksha Gala” or “Hakka Gala”, meaning Jaw Rock, and legend says it was formed when Hanuman dropped a part of the mountain while carrying the Sanjeevani herb. The area is also believed to be part of the Ashoka Vatika, the pleasure garden where Sita Devi was kept by King Ravana. I had the pleasure of visiting Seetha Amman Temple, and it was truly a heart-touching and peaceful experience. This sacred place is filled with powerful energy and timeless beauty. The temple itself is beautifully maintained and surrounded by lush greenery, flowing waters, and a calm, natural atmosphere. As I walked around, I could feel the spiritual connection and deep cultural importance of the site. The nearby forest area added an extra layer of magic, with fresh air and a gentle breeze that made the whole visit feel like a healing journey for the mind and soul. Whether you are spiritual, curious about Ramayana history, or simply looking for a quiet, meaningful place to relax and reflect — Seetha Amman Temple is a must-visit.
