  We stayed in a cottage in Savoie, in BISSY to be exact. Reserved by an acquaintance directly; otherwise, you can find it listed as Gîte de France. There is a breathtaking view of all the mountains surrounding Chambéry, in a peaceful setting. COTTAGE "LA BATAILLARDE" Rue de la Bataillarde 73000 BISSY There are 6 sleeping arrangements (3 bedrooms) including 2 bathrooms. Super well-equipped. And we are warmly welcomed by the owners, so I recommend it.

  What I booked was an English-speaking group tour. What I got was a solo trip with a guide who spoke so little English that most of the trip was in silence. There was no real guiding beyond taking me down the list of activities, providing only the most minimal of information. If I asked a question the guide would just nod and laugh, and I eventually gave up. I felt unprepared for some activities, and things that are usually quite simple (like getting access to an ATM) were much harder than they needed to be. At one point the guide told me I needed to pay 'right now' for the first evenings hotel, and since he did not provide this information when I was literally at the ATM earlier, I provided US dollars. I was informed I would receive change, but I never did. I checked out of the provided hotel for the last two nights and upgraded myself. These last two days without the guide were great. Not only was I free of awkward silences, but I met other travelers, finally learned about Sri Lankan foods, booked my own excursions, and shopped at local stores. Had I known I was simply paying for a driver rather than a guide, I would have done this the entire time. The driver was probably a nice enough human, but due to the language barrier I suppose I'll never know. Sri Lanka is beautiful, but if you are solo traveling you might want to verify your guide speaks your language, or that the group tour you booked is actually a group.

  Sri Lanka is a beautiful island nation known for its stunning beaches, lush tea plantations, ancient temples, wildlife, and warm hospitality. From the historic rock fortress of Sigiriya to the scenic train journey through Ella and the charming streets of Galle Fort, the country offers a wonderful mix of nature, culture, and history. • Horrible experience with a hotel booking in Hikkaduwa made by Beauty Lanka Tours.

  The travel agent booked us in a horrible hotel in Hikkaduwa (Hotel Cinnamon Hikkaduwa Tranz) even though I asked for a luxury hotel. We saw how bad the rooms were and asked to leave as soon as we checked in. The bed were dirty, blood stains on the cover, the toilet did not flush, the shower was dirty and shower door did not close. The agent was very rude (hung up on me twice) and said that I have no choice but to stay at the hotel. The agent refused to reimburse me the 2 nights hotel stay even though we did not stay for more than 10 min. I had to find an alternate hotel by myself and she refused to help. I would not recommend to use this agency as they make you stay in hotels that are mediocre and charge a premium for it.

  We usually travel on our own. However, considering that Sri Lanka had so much to offer in different places, we decided to take this tour because it sounded great. Based on prior comments, we were hoping that the tour would live up to expectations, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the tour, especially our tour guide, Kanishka. Kanishka was superb — knowledgeable, courteous, and professional — and we highly recommend him.

  A group of 7 of us just completed the 6 day tour trip around Sri Lanka with the amazing Thushitha. The tour was jam packed with so many different fun and informative options of activities to match everyone's preference and moods. Our tour guide made it so much fun he is such a laugh, cracking the best jokes throughout the whole trip and he made sure we felt so welcomed to Sri Lanka and even decorated the van out on my birthday with balloons and ribbons which made me feel super special. I would 100000% recommend this tour to friends. It was such a lovely way to explore a country, see all the sights and wildlife with zero stress and relax.   I wasn’t expecting to be the only person on this tour but my guide Niran made the experience very comfortable. I felt very safe and totally relaxed with his gentle nature. Niran made sure I was happy and nothing was too much to ask for.

  The tour is excellent; you visit the most beautiful places in Sri Lanka… Wasi was my driver and guide, he is very kind and attentive… he explained everything we were doing and told me stories… he was always available for my needs and concerned about my well-being. It truly was a beautiful experience.

• A Private driver is the way to go for the Sri Lanka 8 day tour.

  Lalith Perera was our driver on our 8 Day tour of Sri Lanka. Lalith has been a tour guide driver for many years and really knows the country, the venders, and the attractions well. He gave us good advice on what was the best way to experience the highlights of our itinerary. He introduced us to uniquely Sri Lanka experiences like eating curd from water buffalo. It was tasty! And who knew how much better king coconut juice tasted than regular conconut? Lalith was very knowledgeable and easy to be with for the eight days. If you tell him your priorities on the trip, he will arrange it. For example, we wanted to spend extra time in Galle and take the Ella train, and we did.

  Night “Splendour” Tour of Sri Lanka – Review We booked our 7-night Splendour Tour of Sri Lanka through TourRadar, with Beauty Lanka as the local operator, and overall it was a fantastic experience. The standout of our trip was our driver, Kumara. He was exceptional—patient, enthusiastic, and incredibly informative. Nothing was too much trouble, and his relaxed, accommodating nature really made the trip. He genuinely elevated the entire experience. The itinerary was packed and covered a wide variety of destinations. We explored the south of Sri Lanka and experienced an impressive mix—mountains, lakes, Sigiriya (Lion Rock), safaris, Ayurvedic massages, scenic train journeys, and even saw whales, turtles, and dolphins. It felt like we saw so much of the country in a short time. The hotels were solid 3-star accommodations. Rooms were spacious and clean, and while amenities varied slightly (some had pools and mini fridges, others didn’t), all properties were comfortable and well-rated. The staff across all hotels were consistently friendly and helpful, and the included cooked breakfasts were a great start to each day. The pace of the tour is quite fast, but that’s understandable given how much is included. That said, Kumara was very flexible—if we wanted to skip an activity or slow things down, he was more than happy to accommodate. Overall, this was a memorable and well-organised trip. I would absolutely return to explore more of Sri Lanka—especially if we could have Kumara as our driver again!
