Taking off from the Alaska Glacier Lodge in the Mat-Su Valley to the Knik Glacier (5 miles wide by 29 miles long!). We land right in the middle of the Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes on ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. We provide ice spikes for you to safely hike on the ice Take pictures of the blue lakes on top of the glacier, crevasses and ice ‘sculptures’ made by wind, sunshine & time. (Summer)
**WINTER TOURS (Oct-April) please note that this tour in some winter months may not land directly on top of the glacier due to snow cover and safety issues, landing may be on the side next to incredible deep blue ice formations**
Total tour time 1 hour includes 30 mins for round trip flightseeing
CHECK IN 45 mins PRIOR TO DEPARTURE IS REQUIRED - please check departure address to plan accordingly. Late check in can result in a shortened or cancelled tour with no refund

NOT PERMITTED: DRONES-SMOKING ITEMS (VAPES/LIGHTERS/E-CIG)-FIREARMS-BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them
WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.

5.00The experience is worth it. It was summer time when I went and the sights were wonderful! The pilot and staff were very helpful and friendly. They have a nice gift shop and coffee is available.

5.00Our pilot (I believe his name was Charlie) was absolutely fantastic — very considerate, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and showed great skill both as a pilot and as a guide. The tour itself was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend. Landing on the glacier and walking near the stunning blue meltwater pools was truly magical — the scenery was breathtaking. We even had the chance to drink fresh glacier water, which made the experience even more special. This was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and I would gladly do it again.

5.00This was an amazing experience. I had never seen a glacier and never dreamed I could explore one on foot. They took the stress out of the whole day by picking us up at our hotel and returning us safely.

5.00This is a no rush, informative, amazing adventure! Felt like I stepped into a postcard. It was a highlight of our trip! Unlike other glacier excursions I saw that some took, these area pilots are respectful of the individual experience, meaning multiple helicopters are not stopping at your location while you are there. 10 out of 10!

5.00Awesome experience! From the regular communications, to the pick up in downtown Anchorage, the drive out to their lodge with Ashley, the safety briefing to the flight to the glacier and getting to go out and walk on the ice and drink from the glacial pool - it was all a class act. Our pilot, Hayden (although my hearing is poor and it may have been Aiden), did a fantastic job - he was not just a pilot, he was a tour guide and an educator. He took the time, answered questions, told us about the area, strapped on our crampons, and took pictures of us. It was clear from the start that he knew what he was doing and that he enjoyed doing it. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Alaska Helicopter Tours to my friends and family.
