Built on top of a cliff, the Chapel of Sra. Da Rocha allows you to admire the beautiful coast and rock formations. Heading west you will be presented to Ferragudo village, a traditional fishing village that overlooks the Portimão estuary. After crossing the Arade River though the old bridge, you will have the opportunity to contemplate from the top of the Fort of Santa Catarina viewpoint, the river, the mouth of the river and the long Praia da Rocha. Arriving at the charming city of Lagos an optional one-hour boat trip will amaze you as it takes our tourists to Ponta da Piedade caves and rock formations. A must do experience. The historic center still retains its distinctive character, with cobbled streets, authentic restaurants, and an atmosphere which is relaxed and welcoming. A fascinating and unforgettable tour along the coast. An amazing experience to remember.

Capela da Nossa Senhora da Rocha
On the magnificent promontory of Senhora da Rocha, there is the Chapel of Senhora da Rocha. According to historical sources, the Chapel was surrounded by an old fortress (15th century), which dominated the entire coast between Faro and Lagos, and protected the populations and the coast but the fortress was destroyed during the 1755 earthquake.

Walk along the cobbled streets of this picturesque village. You will have the opportunity to go up to the hill to the viewpoint of main church of Our Lady of Conception (Magnificent view for photos of Portimão City and Arade River). Descent to Angrinha Beach by Praia Grande

5.00We (3 couples) thoroughly enjoyed our day - long tour with Johnny (0830 - 1745). It encompassed various beautiful coastal villages and towns, a range of both well known and off the beaten track beauty spots and an opportunity to wander and shop in the charming city of Lagos. Throughout the day, Johnny provided a running commentary about the places we were visiting, providing both useful and interesting details whilst also leaving enough "spaces" for us to take in the sights and chat among ourselves. His English is impeccable, nothing is too much trouble and his minibus is clean, comfortable and well maintained. Whilst we toured with him in gentle heat of September, he told us about how he can adapt his itineraries and other arrangements both to satisfy specific client requests and suit the conditions at any time of year. We enjoyed the bars and restaurants recommended by Johnny but alternatives were also available nearby. Overall, Johnny's Tours provided a very enjoyable and varied day out and fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.

5.00Joao the owner of Johnnys Tours was an AMAZING tour guide !!! He puts his heart, soul and knowledge into the Algarve region from where he is from. He picked us up from our hotel on time in Lagos. We headed over to a town called Loule which we did not have planned in our tour, but was an extra and so worth it! He took us to a market where we bought delicious seasonings and showed us how these two older Portuguese women made items out of palm tree leaves. It truly was an unforgettable experience I even bought something to display in my kitchen. Next he took us over to the cork factory which again was so interesting and educational. He took us through Albufeira . We also went to visit these Portuguese women who painted tile and off the beat place that I would never found if I was on my own. It was a great full day tour and worth it ! He also showed us a great restaurant right on the water with a view . He is full of life and easy to talk to . Went out of his way to get great pictures of us as well . I definitely will go back and hire him again!!

5.00We had the absolute pleasure of spending a day with Johnny, and we cannot say enough about how amazing the experience was. From the moment we met him, his energy, warmth, and genuine love for his home region made us feel like we were traveling with an old friend. In fact, by the end of the day, it felt like we were part of his family. Johnny’s tour was everything we could have hoped for and more — authentic, immersive, and filled with special moments. He seemed to know everyone and every hidden gem in the Algarve! Whether it was taking us off the beaten path, sharing local stories, or guiding us to the most beautiful beachside lunch spot, every moment was thoughtfully curated. We learned so much from him, not just about the region but about the heart and soul behind it. He never once looked at the clock — he was fully focused on making the day extraordinary for us, and he succeeded. We were so moved by his kindness and passion that we told him he and his family are always welcome to visit us if they ever make it to the East Coast of the U.S. 🌍❤️ If we could give this tour 10 stars, we would. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you, Johnny, for a day we’ll never forget!!
There were 2 couples. We based in Faro and got to know the south of Portugal wide. Beautiful really!

5.00Beautiful!!!! The landscape and the road has no waste. It exceeded our expectations! There are ladders to go down to the sea and boats that run through the capes. September is the ideal temperature.

5.00Our trip to Portugal was incredible, with visits to Lisbon and Porto, but the final leg of our honeymoon in Albufeira was by far our favorite, and that is all thanks to Johnny! From start to finish, Johnny provided the most excellent tour of our entire vacation. His communication was impeccable, reaching out before his arrival and ensuring everything was perfect even after we left. From the moment we met him, it didn't feel like we were with a tour guide; it felt like we were exploring the Algarve coast with a close friend or family member. Johnny has an amazing depth of historical knowledge for every spot we visited, but he shares it in such an interesting and engaging way. One of the best parts was the relaxed atmosphere. There was never any pressure to be on a strict timeline or to purchase anything from the vendors we met. The entire day felt tailored just for us. Johnny also has a keen eye for photography and we loved having him as our very personal photographer, capturing beautiful, special moments for us in the most picturesque spots and unique backdrops. He made the tour feel so special and unique, taking us to local stops after our boat tour and introducing us to friendly local vendors. For lunch, Johnny suggested a fantastic local restaurant owned by his friends, and we are so glad we took his recommendation! We got to meet the owner and his son, and enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal of fresh fish, vegetables, local beverages, and fabulous dessert right on the water. It was a testament to how much fun we were all having that we invited he join us for the meal, solidifying that feeling of friendship. We cannot recommend Johnny's Tours enough if you are visiting Albufeira or the Algarve region. He truly goes above and beyond to create a memorable, personal, and fun-filled experience. We are already dreaming about our next trip back!
