Not only will you be able to pick your own bamboo piece to work on, but you'll also be free to decorate it as you wish, under initial guidance from the workshop host. I was very appreciative of the help Niko gave in making the bamboo lantern. She explained the bamboo industry is diminishing, a craft project will help a little.

Space Bepu is the name of the studio and will help when getting transportation to the location. Everyone was super friendly and the project was so much for fro the whole family. This is a one of a kind souvenir you won't find anywhere else!

It’s hands on and fun and was easy to get to and get going. The hosts were great! They also have types of classes within the space as well.

Easy to find. Activity completed outside. Really fun and easy to complete. Staff spoke English. Instructions very easy to understand. Relax and have fun with it. Would do it again
Fun creative relaxing way to end our trip to Beppu

We had a great time creating our lanterns, combining patterns to make them one-of-a-kind. It was a perfect way to relax after a busy day of sight seeing. We really enjoyed meeting Masa and learning a bit about the history of Beppu. Massa also pointed the way and even made us a reservation at an excellent izakaya where we had some great local dishes. Highly recommend this.
