Built for the Universal Exposition in 1888, the Arc de Triomf stood at the head of the avenue that led to the main entrance of the fair, in Parc de la Ciutadella. The redbrick monument, built in the Neo-Mudéjar style, reflected the eclectic, decorative taste so typical of Catalan Art Nouveau in vogue at that time.
We are in the heart of the Sant Pere neighborhood, which, together with Santa Caterina, was a major center of commercial and textile activity from its origins. During the 19th century, the area was filled with silk and cotton factories and printing workshops, with more than 280 textile businesses operating between the two neighborhoods. Carrer del Portal Nou has ancient origins, as it once served as an entrance to the city from an old Roman road coming from France. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the street was lined with porticoes that supported commercial life, although most were demolished in the early 19th century. Today, only a few remain. The area, near Barcelona’s medieval walls, is also surrounded by local legends, with reports of mysterious apparitions seen late at night.

5.00We were led on a ghost tour by a tour guide named Nil. He was a kind and attentive guide and his fascinating commentary made for a different Barcelona tour. I'm very happy to be exposed to the slightly scary hidden secrets of Barcelona.

4.00I booked this for me an my partner for the day we arrived to get to know the area a little as it was held close to our hotel. Christina was lovely she told the stories really well. I wouldnt say it was scary but we enjoyed it and would recommend

1.00I wish me and my partner could write a review but unfortunately we didn't even get to do it, let me start by saying we waited 30 minutes in the place it said we had to meet to see no one anywhere with a sign or even a person dressed in any way that would give us a idea. Then we rang the numbers we where given 10 times to see what was happening and where the meeting place was (if it had changed) the number went straight to voice mail. If I was you don't buy this tour as its a complete con and if we had known we wouldn't have booked it. No one showed up, no one tryed to ring us back and we are very unhappy and would love all our money back but guess what u have to cancel 20 something hours defore to get a full refund what a complete con. DO NOT BOOK 😡😡😡

5.00I love ghost tours and try to find one in every city I am visiting! This was a wonderful way to see the sights and learn some of the legends of Barcelona. Our tour guide was an AMAZING and very animated story teller. I was on the English/Spanish tour and her transition between the two languages made the stories even more captivating. We had a large group, which was fine for the most part, but would have preferred a group . of maybe 8 max.
