The Beatrix Potter Afternoon Tour is an enchanting excursion that invites you to immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery of the Lake District while discovering the legacy of the renowned author and illustrator, Beatrix Potter. This tour provides an excellent opportunity to gain insights into the life and artistic creations of one of the most adored figures in British children's literature. The itinerary includes a visit to Wray Castle, where Beatrix Potter spent her first summer min the Lakes. You will visit her home at Hilltop with your included entry ticket (no need to pay extra). You will also get the chance to explore Hawkshead, a charming village which Beatrix knew well, and visit other landmarks associated with Potter's life and work, making for an unforgettable and informative afternoon tour.

The English Lake District weather can change quickly, even in the summer months. Please bring a waterproof coat with a hood in case of rain or windy weather
As there is a little walking involved on the tour, some uphill and on uneven or wet terrain, please wear suitable, comfortable shoes
Children must be accompanied by an adult
All passengers, including children of any age, must have a seat purchased for them

Please do not change to a different departure point without informing us in advance as we don't automatically go to every departure point. If we don't know you have changed your departure point we may not pick you up for the tour!

5.00Please make sure you let them know ahead of time if a travel companion needs assistance. my mother was using a portable transport chair and I had thought that was communicated when this was booked. Because viator is subcontracting with the local guide, it was missed in communication. Our guide was wonderful about helping with what was needed for her to fully enjoy the day. He was a wealth of information about Beatrix Potter and the area and a super talented driver!!

5.00We had a fantastic time on the Beatrix Potter tour! We learned so much about the author’s life, her work, and her incredible contributions to conservation. Tim, our tour guide and driver was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience enjoyable. At Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top Farm, we had a blast looking for the tiny felt mice scenes placed around the house—just like the characters in The Tale of Two Bad Mice.

5.00Even though it was raining, our tour was informative and the landscape was beautiful. Wray Castle was a nice surprise stop. Beatrice Potters was darling snd the surrounding landscape was exactly what I expected the Lake District to look like. I highly recommend it.

5.00It was a super fun experience. I don't know anything about Beatrix Potter, but after this tour most of the questions are answered and even better I had a great time. Tom the driver was funny and entertaining with clear info about everything there was to see. He also drove quietly and relaxed, the bus was comfortable. with plenty of time at the highlight - stops.
