Central Post Office

The Saigon Central Post Office, is a post office in Paris Commune Square, downtown Ho Chi Minh City, next to the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's cathedral. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the late 19th century. It counts with Gothic, Renaissance and French influences. It was constructed between 1886 and 1891 and is now a tourist attraction.

It's a long way from the cruise port but well worth the effort. Bruno was an excellent tour guide, he explained a bit about the history of the city to set the scene for the day. We saw all the major sights, Bruno knew exactly where to take the best photos. We wanted an authentic Vietnamese lunch and Bruno took us to a lovely local restaurant we would never have found ourselves. It was our friends birthday and Bruno even managed to source a birthday cake. What a asset he is to the company. We were very lucky to have him as our guide for the day.
