Customize your Smokies experience with our private day hike option. When you meet your guide they will provide you with an array of options from hikes with waterfalls and views, to history strolls, and stops at scenic vistas for photos. Your adventure might be a mix and match of multiple short experiences, or one long hike that covers it all! All you have to do is pick the best adventure for you, and then sit back, relax and follow your guide on the adventure of a lifetime. Picnic lunch of a deli sandwich, chips, and cookies included.

Excellent glamping experience with the family!

5.00Our family had an extraordinary trip with A Walk in the Woods! Our Spring Break glamping experience started a “little” more chilly than expected, with snow and temperatures in the 20s. However, our guide, Mike, and the rest of the team from A Walk in the Woods, China and Andy, managed to make sure we had a great time. Even one of the owners, Vesna, showed up when the temperatures were still freezing to make sure we could take a hot shower and have a warm dinner. We are impressed by the amount of attention to detail and individualized planning when it was time to decide hikes and lunches. We are very happy with our four days that we spent out there in the mountains, connecting with nature, singing around the fire pit, and Mike being “bossed” around by our 5-year old ☺️. This is our second experience with them, although it was our first one glamping. We will definitely be back soon. Again, thank you for everything!

5.00Went on a walk in the woods river snorkeling tour. Kels was our tour guide. Very informative and very helpful. She took great care of our very large group of 3 families and did a wonderful job. She made sure everyone was safe, learned a good amount, and had fun. Great job!

5.00So well done. China and Sam were able to please a group of 19 seasoned travelers. They were informative, gave us what we wanted, a moderate hike, it was the appropriate length of time, and everyone really enjoyed themselves and the guides. The only thing missing was extra water.

5.00I had the absolute pleasure of joining a 4-day/3-night backpacking trip in the Smoky Mountains organized by a Walk in the Woods. It was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, I felt completely taken care of. The experience was seamless, professional, and memorable! The guide, China, was exceptional: deeply knowledgeable, endlessly patient, and a gifted storyteller who brought the forest to life with fascinating history, ecology, and humor. Her kindness and calm made the trip feel adventurous and enriching. The office staff were also fantastic--professional and responsive. Every detail felt thoughtfully planned and expertly executed. If you are looking for a meaningful, well-organized adventure, A Walk in the Woods is the way to go. I can't recommend them highly enough.

5.00We did a half-day guided hike with Mike. We had people of various experience, age, and ability in our group and Mike made certain we all had a great experience. We enjoyed a gorgeous hike with lots of interesting information about the area. He also made sure my kids (ages 5 and 8) were involved and engaged, going above and beyond to show them the highlights of the trail. Overall, we are so glad we chose A Walk in the Woods for our Smoky Mountain experience!

5.00It was the PERFECT way to see the Smoky mountains- probably the best part of our 3-day Smoky mountains trip! Our guide, Samantha, was very knowledgeable and an excellent story teller, full of amazing information about the flora/fauna of the place and its rich history. We explored places we couldn't have figured on our own. Tour was a mix of car ride and walk which kept things moving at a good pace. The tour was customised completely as per the type of places we wanted to explore and itinerary was modified on-the-go based on the changing weather conditions, ensuring we get the most out of our time. The hikes were gorgeous and mostly to non-touristy places which made our overall experience feel very exclusive. Samantha was excellent with her guidances, anecdotes and conversations and we felt engrossed throughout. This team seems like a very passionate group and is doing great work by creating such an authentic tour of the park interiors. Our group of 4 adults left feeling extremely content with the overall experience. It was every bit worth the price.
