Free time to explore this historic town. There is the oldest Catholic Church in Australia, the oldest jail and oldest bridge. There are plenty of antique shops and eateries.
Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary
You are given free food pellets to feed the kangaroos and wallabies. There are a large variety of animals and enclosures with a guide meeting passengers along the way with informative commentary. Get up close and personal with koalas and you can watch Tasmanian devils feed.

4.00I would have rated this a 5 but there was misinformation about the pick up time and location. If the bus is unable to pick up at the hotel, that should be communicated to the traveler ahead of time.

5.00The tour through Richmond was charming and the shopping a delight. Bonorong Sanctuary was our highlight. The chance to see animals up close and hear information from their caretakers was a spot on experience. Easily could have stayed there hours longer. We left with big smiles!

5.00I did Bonorong and Richmond and had a blast on this 1/2 trip. They picked me up at my hotel and we had a guided tour of Bonorong which was amazing. To see the Tasmanian Devil and watch it feed was great! Wombats too! The kangaroo field as I call it was a once in a lifetime experience for someone who does not live in Australia. To get to feed them and interact was great. The Richmond portion well it was super windy so I found the Spirited Beverages and Tasmanian Tonic Company right by the bakery where we parked and had a wonderful inexpensive and unexpected whisky tasting! Our driver was great very knowledgeable and entertaining.

2.00Richmond is over-rated, population 880. Not worth the time. Not enough time at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Should skip Richmond and do the sanctuary for much more time!. Feeding the kangaroos was fun, but needed more time. Tour was good but took up all our time. No time to see other animals such as Fred. Revise the timing or find another option.
