Our Home is located on top of the hill above Sarajevo. That position gives us one of the best views of Sarajevo. We offer cooking lessons at our home because we believe that the only way for our guests to experience local way of living is to visit our home, our garden , make the food we eat almost every day and enjoy in one of the best wines from Herzegovina – you can’t go more local than that.

The only condition we have is to bring positive energy and a STRONG will to eat whatever you made at the end of cooking lessons. On the other hand we can promise you a lot of fun and laugh!

All well known Bosnian dishes are covered with this learning course. Not only that but Herzegovina quality wine will be served which makes this gastro experience complete. Wine is really important for this learning course since to stretch a dough for Burek you need to be relaxed and brave which you can be only after a couple of glasses of wine! Soon as you arrive, you'll be served with welcome drink, coffee or tea and you will get a chance to meet us and enjoy in the best panoramic view on Sarajevo. Our lessons are made of two parts: I Part: 1.Onions filled with minced meat, rice and spices (Sogan dolma); 2. Mangel/spinach leaves rolled and filled with minced meat, rice and spices (Japrak); 3. Paprika filled with minced meat, rice and spices (Dolma); II Part: 1. Burek-phyllo dough rolled with potatoes/meat/cheese depending on season Vegan and vegetarian options available apon request. After we finish, you will enjoy in food that we made together and have plenty of time asking us questions about anything that you would like to know :)

We had an amazing experience taking a Bosnian cooking class in Mersiha’s home! The atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming. We loved learning how to prepare traditional local dishes and getting hands-on guidance every step of the way. Beyond the cooking itself, spending time with a local and hearing stories about the culture and history made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend to anyone wanting an authentic taste of Bosnia!

Taking this cooking class was the highlight of our two week stay in Sarajevo! While Sarajevo is a wonderful city to visit, this class really immersed us into Bosnian life. Mersija greeted us warmly, and we shared such a fun, creative, tasty time together. There were a group of nine total, which allowed us to share this experience with others. We made a huge feast of traditional Bosnian delicacies and then enjoyed eating them! I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking, no matter what your skill, to truly get a feel of Bosnian life.

Wonderful fun evening , warm and friendly environment, Mersiha was patient teaching us the art of making filo pastry and the results were great, she also talked about her life in Sarajevo....thankyou and I have a photo of my attempt to stuff onions and capsicums...they actually rasted very good.

For my birthday, I treated myself to a solo trip to Bosnia & Herzegovina, and one of my favorite and most memorable activities is one I now recommend to anyone planning to visit Sarajevo and that’s signing up for Bosnian Cooking Lessons. From the very first message I received, I immediately felt as though Mersiha was a friend inviting me to her home for a delicious meal. She’s incredibly warm and friendly which made this experience all the more special. I truly appreciated the pick-up and drop-off transfer to and from Mersiha and her husband, Mustafa’s home, which further added to the feeling of visiting a friend for dinner. Mersiha began by walking me through everything we’d be cooking together and showing me how to prepare each dish. She was incredibly patient, answering all my many questions and gently guiding me when my hands weren’t quite delicate enough while assembling the börek haha! I cannot thank Mersiha and Mustafa enough for making this meal so unforgettable and for sharing their wonderful stories. As a solo traveler, I also appreciated Mersiha taking photos throughout the class. It was such a thoughtful touch! I’ll always cherish the dishes we made together and look forward to sharing my newfound knowledge with friends and family. I truly cannot wait to return to Sarajevo and take another class!

What a lovely experience we had with Bosnian Cooking Lessons. Definitely a place to go for great team-building effort or to just learn more about bosnian cooking. And a big plus the food is amazing.

We did the Bosnian Cooking Lessons for a teambuilding activity during our visit to Sarajevo. The overall experience was very good. The food was good, alle well prepared. The explanation by the host is also very good. She was really encouraging us to be a better cook. Learned a lot !

We almost always did a cooking class while traveling, but this one was one of the best we ever did. Merisha has welcomed us very warmly to her home. We prepared stuffed peppers, onions and chard leaves, which were very delicious. The highlight was the fillet dough, which we made ourselves.

Mersi was an amazing and patient teacher and host. She welcomed us into her home with love. You could tell she really loves the dishes she is teaching you to cook. We came for a cooking class but we left with a beautiful conversation and a family dinner
