Ghosts & Gravestones Tour Boston
Step aboard the trolley of the doomed and join your host, a 17th-century grave digger, cursed with a sentence of eternal damnation. This wretched creature is doomed to travel the streets of Boston and relay the stories of the unfortunate souls he encountered and the macabre events he had been witness to during his purgatory. Hear about Boston's most sinister characters - from the Angel of Death to the king of all killers - the Boston Strangler. Learn about all the haunts that call the "Hub" their home. But that's not all! Step inside two of the oldest burying grounds in Boston for a walking tour you will never forget. Learn the significance of much of the imagery found in these 17th century burial grounds and the famous and not so famous (but even more interesting) occupants therein. Visit Copp's Hill Burying Ground in the North End, nestled atop the tallest point in one of Boston's oldest historic districts. Here you will visit the final resting place of Cotton Mather, a man famous for his "intimate" involvement with the Salem Witch Trials. Then to the Granary Burying Ground where you will visit the final resting places of many of the famous heroes of the American Revolution including John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams. Remember that half of the tour is walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended (so you don't become "dead" on your feet)!

It was a nice tour. The guides were very enthusiastic but told stories very slowly. They over focused on particular stories and then were short on time for other more interesting stories. Too much time showing off the subway vent. It was a lot of walking for a trolley tour and not enough good stories or locations for the effort and distance of the walk.

Mercy was fabulous! From the costume to her actions and voice. She was so knowledgeable of the area and the history. It did not seem scripted but felt more like a story being told. She interacted with her audience repeatedly on our tour and was quick with a smart joke! Such an unexpectedly sensational time!

Extremely disappointed! I have booked many via tours and have always referred via tour to all my friends and family. I was a travel agent for 40 years and always used via tour and have taken many many tours on you. However, this was one of the worst tours I have ever taken Due to Fourth of July, which they knew when we booked streets were closed. We were not able to see some of the points of interest traffic was horrible and the narrator guide just talked in circles. We saw one graveyard and left the tour. Many others on our tour were just as disappointed. Viator just lost my loyalty.
